no volumetric lights

Recommended Posts

Hello all

After reinstalling p3d, I obviously couldn't do without the package of the 777. I noticed now that, even with the stock theme from fsfx, I don't get any volumetric light. Any tips on what might be the problem?

Hi Victor,

Try to uninstall and reinstall the product from the Install Utility (Not the WIndows Control Panel)

Let me know if that worked for you!

Thank you!

Hi,

I also have question about 777 Immersion's volumetric lighting - landing, strobes and bacon.

Yesterday I observed that strobes and bacon started flash their glows at FL360 but there weren't any clouds. It keeps about few minutes. By the way - their flashing glows look very nice :)

Then, when I descent to Zurich and cross dense clouds layers, bacon, strobes and landing lights glows wasn't visible (only Runway Lights glows was visible in these conditions).

Is it normal or something's wrong?

Lucas

Hi,

I don't know what is wrong, but I don't see volumetric glow lights in 777.

Example:
METAR was: @POS 102220Z 00001KT 000V360 0600 BR FG OVC001 M04/M04 Q1035 RMK AS DEPICTED
Tested in the night.

I run FSFX Immersion installer again, but without result.

My aircraft.cfg:

Source code

...and my panel.cfg:

Source code

I have fresh installation Windows 10 and FSX:SE (only SE) and use DX10 mode with DX10 Fixer.

In installer, there is possibility to check effect fo FSX and FSX:SE separately - should I install only for SE, only for FSX or both?

With regards,

Lucas

Hi Lucas, it seems like your panel.cfg has double-entries. You can remove 2 last entries and try it in the sim.

Let me know

Hi Keven,

it seems there is ok now :)

Thank you.

How it is possible that I had doubled entries?

And what about with this:

In installer, there is possibility to check effect fo FSX and FSX:SE separately - should I install only for SE, only for FSX or both?

As I mentioned, I have only Steam Edition.

With regards,

Lucas

Hi Keven,

could you explain above quote? I mean:

In installer, there is possibility to check effect fo FSX and FSX:SE separately - should I install only for SE, only for FSX or both?

Hi Lucasz,

Sorry, I've been all over the place over the last few days.

Duplicate entries are happening because for an unknown reason, your registries to FSX (Classic) are pointing to your FSX:SE folder.

The installation then installes twice in the same FSX installation. To fix the issue you have to disable all the checkboxes for FSX Classic.

Did you use any Migration tool in order to direct FSX Classic add-ons to your :SE folder?

Regards,
Keven

No. I have clean installation of Windows 10 and only Steam Edition of FSX.

Best,

Lucas

Unfortunately I am having the same problem, but I don't know if my panel.cfg has double entries and if I do which entries are they?

Yes it has double-entries.

Restore your panel.cfg file with the bkp next to it
