Version 3 on same HDD as 2.5 ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am going for V3 thats for sure ( VAS VAS killer i hear  :Tounge: ) but i am not in the mood for a clean W10 installation right now.

I have a 1TB HDD for v2.5 and about 750 gb free.

Can i drop V3 in a "P3Dv3" folder on same HDD and install add-ons as they gets compatible ?

Eventually i will uninstall everything related to 2.5 and keep V3 (defragged ) on the drive

Thanks

Michael Moe

Michael, it shouldn't make any difference whether it's the same disk or not, as long as:

A. If you do use the same disk you should obviously use a different folder.

B. There is adequate space free on your chosen disk.

So, yes.

Well `yes` if the addon allows for duplicated installations into different sims on the same computer.

Otherwise it's either/or, assuming compatibility with V3.

EULA-specific, I'd say. As to whether that can even be  discussed here:

I realize there has been a lot of buzz lately about EULA and how it pertains to users wanting to install their add-ons into multiple sims.  The way I see it for the OP, if he has v2.5 of P3D installed and will upgrade to V3, it's still the same simulator platform.

Developers get to decide if they agree or disagree. It's most certainly not up for Mr. Morvay to make the call for them.

I wasn't making any call for anyone, I just merely expressed my view, yeesh!
