FSUIPC (servers down?) and P3Dv3

Anyone know if the latest FSUIPC version works with V3?  Apparently there are V3 messages in the log of the latest FSUIPC version.  I'd check on Pete's site, but I can't even get a ping on the FSUIPC download servers at fsuipc.simflight.com (or the host at simflight.com for that matter)...I keep getting a "cannot find host" error from the DNS servers, and I've tried several.  The download links from Simmarket fail the same way.

 

Arrgh.

  The schiratti download page is working. Though, I'm not certain if that particular version is P3dv3 compliant.

Having some kind of DNS propagation issue here...DNS fails to resolve simflight.com on both Comcast and OpenDNS, but I was able to download it using my Verizon cellular data link.

(P.S.  the V4.945a installer successfully installed FSUIPC4 into FSX, P3D V2, AND P3d v3 without my doing anything special to it, with a warning that "this version of P3Dv3 is later than any known, there may be problems")

Cool, glad it's woking. I'm going to re-download it again, now that my P3Dv3 has finished its download.

Hi Bob,

 

V4.945a is the latest from Pete D. it will install into V3 but it was made two builds earlier than the official released V3 build.  I haven't done more than basic joystick axes/calibration work ... seemed to work Ok, but that's as far as I've gone with FSUIPC 4.945a.  As you know Pete is on "vacation"

 

When he returns I'm sure he'll do another updated.

Thanks Rob...without FSUIPC my custom flight controls won't work at all, so I'm gonna have to wing it with bated breath and fingers crossed.

When I select "Send to FS as normal axis" the drop-down menu doesn't list the normal axis such as "Axis Throttle Set", "Axis Elevator Set", etc. Can anyone confirm this?

I saw that too.  Works OK if you send it to calibration.

I installed FSUIPC v 4.945 but it never gave me an option to register it and the registration button inside P3Dv3 is not clickable and it says you have to run the installer again?

You might try running the earlier release version, register it , and then install the 4.945a beta.  The registration key is saved to the registry, and then you have an option of keeping the existing registration.  Otherwise, Pete is due back on Sunday...you can leave him a note on his support forum.

I recommend you give Pete time to update ... like I said earlier 4.495a was created before 2 additional V3 builds were made (Pete is obviously on the Beta team). Prior to Pete's "vacation" he did ask me to let folks know.
