Version 3 Add On Strategy

Recommended Posts

It seems like I just upgraded to 2.5 and re-installed everything due to the new file structure.  Oh well.  But, this time, it appears that we need to wait before we can legally re-install our various add ons?  Maybe we need a sticky with 3.0 ready installers?

In most cases this is correct.  See our pinned topic at the top of this forum regarding the installation of 3rd Party software into P3D.  Topic locked.  If you own addons, go to their website and download their installers for P3D.

Best approach?  Wait.  I know it's not what you want to hear, but patience is the best course of action.  I installed V3 last night and spent what time I had left, before bed, to fly around with a default aircraft over default scenery, getting a feel for the improvements made and of course, stability.  The patience exercised allows for us to stabilize the sim within our own rigs and quite honestly, by not having all the add-ons installers ready prevents us from going gangbusters and installing it all with a potential risk of causing errors.  I think this will help AVSIM get prepared for the forums to light up with new threads.
