Vic,

Edit:

I edited my original question here ... I had downloaded the wrong order number from SimMarket .. my error.

This download I have now is 1.3gb .. so my guess it is the correct one ... for P3Dv2 but that's ok.

  • Ok, here goes ...  First you need to add the AI aircraft to the sim. You do that by adding the path to the MT6 aircraft folder to P3D "simobjects.cfg", in the same way that the configurator does for

Vic,

What I did :
Not using the MT6 communicator program because its menu choices only worked with P3Cv2 as far as I could tell.

Manually adding MT6 for P3Dv2 into P3Dv3.

1. Download MT6 for P3Dv2 from SimMarket.

2. Install MT6 to drive F (e.g.).

3. Tell P3Dv3 where to find MT6 aircraft:

I added entry 10 (example below) to P3Dv3 Simobjects.cfg for MT6 located here on my system: C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3.

[Entry.9]
Title=Default Countermeasures
Path=SimObjects\Countermeasures
Required=True
Active=True
[Entry.10]
Title=MyTraffic Vehicles
Path=F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Aircraft
Required=True
Active=True

4. Started P3Dv3 and went to the Scenery Library an added mt6 scenery to it and moved it down in the priority list.

Located here on my setup: F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Scenery

Shut down P3Dv3.

Now P3Dv3 has the MT6 entry in the scenery.cfg.

[Area.123]
Title=Bathymetry
Local=Scenery\Bathymetry
Layer=123
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

[Area.124]
Title=MT_Scenery
Local=F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Scenery
Layer=124
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

5. I did not want P3Dv3 default AI aircraft (WorldTravel e.g.):
So I renamed this bgl file : trafficaircraft.bgl (or back it up to another location) located here: F:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Scenery\World\scenery (e.g.).

Edit:

MT6 has its own Afcads.

With payware scenery above them in the library .. will they all be ok or do the MT6 afcads have to be removed (to avoid duplicate afcads)?

[Area.124]

Title=MT_Scenery

Local=F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Scenery

Layer=124

Active=TRUE

Required=FALSE

Pretty sure this:

Local=F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Scenery

should be this:

Local=F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic

Vic,

Thanks for the reply.

Local=F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic\Scenery

was accepted by P3Dv3 when I added the scenery area and when I go to KDTW I see AI delta aircraft (quick test) and traffic explorer (from Traffic Toolbox) has many flight zooming around.

What else can I check to veriry?

I can't locate the link but Burkhard said to NOT include the "scenery" folder. I have not and I have a bunch of AI showing.

Try it without and see if you notice any difference. It's possible that it may work just fine either way. Perhaps one of our scenery guru's will catch this and comment.

Vic,

I did an edit on the P3Dv3 scenery library area and did it your way.

Then P3dV3 did a normal scenery rebuild and my Delta jets are still showing up ok at KDTW.

So, all is ok.

Your way is better because it automatically "names" the secenry area after I selected.

Now I have:

[Area.123]
Title=Bathymetry
Local=Scenery\Bathymetry
Layer=123
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

[Area.124]
Title=MyTraffic
Local=F:\MyTraffic Professional\MyTraffic
Layer=124
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

Got this working fine, but having issues with vpilot and using Mytraffic6 models. Tried VMR Generator but still get loads of errors when testing? Anyone know of a fix?
