Anyone know if we will need, and get, an updated installer for V3?

They have no support forum.  These are their support forums or what use to be their "official" support forums.  They decided to go to the trouble ticket system like most other developers and so we turned their forums into "unofficial" support forums.  Almost every developer no longer provides "official" support in forums anymore but all have gone to trouble tickets or e-mails.  Too many pirates steal their products and then come here to get support when things go wrong.  Now us members have to provide the support for them.

Best regards,

Jim

Vic, their installer has an option to install it in "Other" and then a browse button.  Maybe that will work.

Best regards,

My apologies to the OP if I led them astray.  It wasn't until a few minutes ago when I noticed that they only have an FAQ but no real forum.  My first instinct was to refer to the developer, but it's hard these days to recognize where support comes from.  I know AVSIM has "Unofficial" forums (which I thought Carenado was here), but in any case, I think you sent the OP down the right path now.

I got an answer from Carenado that simply said - Our products work in Version 3.

Puzzled.

Here's what I did to get the Phenom 100 installed in P3D3.

I still have P3Dv2.5 installed. If you choose "P3Dv2" in the Carenado installer it will install into v2 no matter where you try to point the installer. So fool it and install into a simulator you don't have on your computer. In my case it was FSX. Installer can't find the right directory and patiently waits for you to tell it where to go.

Don't see any reason this shouldn't work for the Phenom 300.

With the Phenom 300 I did just like that and it gives me an error about can´t find \appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml

I don´t understand the FSX part

It's not worth the effort. You have to jump thru too many hoops to get the jet installed.

In my case the "carenavigraph. dll" prevented P3D3 from loading. Disabling that .dll gets the sim running and the Phenom will fly but without any navaids, airports, etc. Pretty much useless unless you want to go sightseeing.

I did this using the Carenado Navigraph v1.1 extension which might be the problem. Maybe the stock v1.3 would work. Not worth it for me to find out.

I created a Prepar3D v2 folder and dll.xml and fooled it into installing into that but as Jay says, the carenavigraph.dll stops P3D3 from starting. It works ok if you stop the carenavigraph.dll from loading so it is not compatible with P3D3.

Hi Vic,

Regarding my earlier post where I stated the installer had an option for browsing to the folder and then installing.  I tried that too and it did not work BUT just found the installation folder in C:\Program Files(x86)\Carenardo Installer.  Basically you just move those folder over into P3Dv3.  It worked for me!  FPS in v3 are much better.  At FlightBeam's KIADHD, I had 23 fps in the VC.  Never saw the frames so high in the VC at KIAD before!!

EDIT:  Forgot to add I had made several attempts to get this installed using the Carenado installer for this aircraft and I finally got an error that stated I had exceeded the number of allowed installations.  I have sent them a support request to find out why I cannot install it any longer.  I should be able to install it 150,000 times!

Best regards,

Hey Jim,

Can you explain beginning to end how you got it work?  Appreciate it.

I wonder if Fscubed is worth getting for migrating addons between versions? sounds like a very simplified program, without having to install everything from scratch.
