October 3, 201510 yr I am pretty sure my direct X is corrupted... My sound is not working good.. when I switch views sound is dead. When I try to reinstall or repair the PMDG 777, it does not install the direct X..it says I have the latest version of direct x and quits. I went back to my P3D V2.3 and I now have the same problem since the direct x is is not right. How can I uninstall direct x? and reinstall the latest? anyone? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 4, 201510 yr Download the latest DirectX 11. Next, you'll have to go into Programs and Features>View installed updates. Find the one named KB2670838, and uninstall it. After that restart Windows and install the latest DirectX 11 that you downloaded. Restart Windows again to apply the update Make a restore point before hand in case something goes wrong. I've had some issues with DirectX not installing, but I usually did a repair install, but you probably want to keep your stuff, so this is a bit cleaner way of doing it. Jeff Thomson

October 4, 201510 yr Did it fix anything? If not, I would look into doing a clean install of your sound drivers. As well as getting the most up to date ones. Jeff Thomson
