Recommended Posts

Anyone know if this add-on can be installed in V3.  Or any traffic program is compatible with V3

I used the migration tool (v3 beta) and followed that video.

Make sure in the fsx.configuration file you change the SimObjects line from 1 to 0 or the gui won't open.

Also add the entry to exercise.xml in programdata folder.

Any problems send me a pm and I'll teamviewer onto your pc and fix it. But it works 100 on p3d v3 and windows 10 64 bit

Great to hear. I noticed some errors being posted in the ContentErrorLog.txt with some of the additional addon traffic.

Is this anything to be concerned about our should I just turn off the logging and be a happy simmer ?

Any idea who posted the video? It's removed now. No UT2 and v3 for me.

So I'm seriously considering switching to SSD's before I get the v3 installed, which obviously means I have to get everything reinstalled. To get it right in terms of UT2, would I have to do the following to not lose all the work I've done in 2.5?

1.Backup db from the v2.5

2.Backup the entire UT2 folder

3.Backup the Simobjects folder containing UT2 models

4.Use EMT to install UT2 from scratch

5.Follow the steps in the video

6.Overwrite the new installation folders with backed up folders?

Well since you have V2.5 then there is the easy way to install...

Make sure you backup the following folders:

C:\Users\(your usr name)\AppData\Roaming\Flight One Software (here is the DB and other stuff)

your drive:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2

Your simobjects aircraft UT2 folder

Copy the folder to your new drive outside the P3D root for example:

your drive:\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2

your drive :\P3DAddonAI\UT2 Aircraft

edit the following cfg files:

- simobjects.cfg (C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3)

[Entry.XX]

Title=AI Aircraft

Path=your drive:\P3DAddonAI\UT2 Aircraft

Required=True

Active=True

Where XX is the next number in sequence

- FSUIPC.ini in your p3d root

Add the following line

[Programs]

Run1=READY,KILL,"your drive:\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe"

Change your drive with your drive letter...

That's it...

Be sure you do a complete system backup prior to doing any of this.

It completely borked my P3D install making it unbootable after triple checking everything.

Thank god for Macrium Reflect.

I do not have FSX installed just a clean version of P3Dv3.  I try to run the UT2 installer by adding a dummy FSX.exe file in main sim folder C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 and then pointing the installer accordingly but I get an error message saying the path is invalid.  Is it possible to get UT2 installed without FSX and the migration tool?

Good question. I think the migration tool may have been the culprit in my failed install but I can't prove it.

I really don't like using apps where you can't see exactly what they're doing. If you find a way to do this without the tool, I would give it a try.

Not my Instructions, think original poster was Gmoney,This WILL work whether of not FSX is installed. Without errors.

1. enable EMT(or copy and paste the p3d cfg and rename it to fsx.cfg)

2. install UT2 pointing to the P3D directory

3. UT2 installer will put this line into the "prepar3d.cfg":

     [Main]

     SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

4. change it to "SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft" or the next sequential number (1,2,3). Save file

5. open %programdata%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\simobjects.cfg

6. add this line:

    [Entry.10]

Path=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

Required=True

Active=True

7.or the next sequential number.save file

8.copy "prepar3d.cfg" and paste it back into the same directory renaming it "fsx.cfg"

9.open up %appdata%\roaming\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2settings.cfg

10. you should see something like this"

     [Main]

     FSX cfg File Location =C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\FSX.cfg

     FSX Location=E:\P3D\

     hideDisclaimer=1

11.change it to

    [Main]

    FSX cfg File Location=C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\fsx.cfg

    FSX Location=E:\P3D\

    hideDisclaimer=1

12. change to reflect your P3D directory path. save it

13.open up "exe.dll" to see if this is in there:

  <Launch.Addon>

    <Disabled>False</Disabled>

    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>

    <Name>UT2</Name>

    <Path>Your Drive Letter:\P3d\\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe</Path>

    <NewConsole>True</NewConsole>

  </Launch.Addon>

14.You should have a Ultimate Traffic 2 shortcut on your desktop. Don't run it yet

15. DISABLE EMT(or rename fsx.cfg to bak)

16.Reboot, then run the UT2 shortcut.

17.install Power Pack and any additional traffic databases (optional)
