October 13, 201510 yr It has been already a huge discussion here for V2.5: http://www.avsim.com/topic/464547-popcorn-clouds-continue-in-2512944/ Seems that nothing has change or what do you think? Would like to see clouds like in FSX than the V3 would almost be perfect for me! Best Regards, Holger Mut
October 13, 201510 yr Commercial Member I see no popcorn clouds in v3 using default clouds but this is only with using the product for a couple of weeks now. I did see repeating cloud patterns when I used to use REX so I stopped using them. October 13, 201510 yr Popcorn clouds occur naturally in the real world, why wouldn't it happen in the sim? I can't understand why people make so big a deal out of this...

October 13, 201510 yr I don't have any issues with default clouds and Opus. Stefano does raise a good point though...!

October 13, 201510 yr I can't remember ever having popcorn clouds. Must be the kind of weather or season I like to fly in with ASN.
October 13, 201510 yr I've never had this 'popcorn' cloud issue either. i7-9700K, MSI Z370, PNY 4070 Super, GTX 750Ti, 32GB GSkill, 43" curved Samsung, 32" BenQ, 11" LED, RealSImGear GTN750, Win10, P3DV5.4/P3DV6 and MSFS, several GoFlight modules, Saitek radio, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Virtual Fly TQ6.

October 13, 201510 yr Author Popcorn clouds occur naturally in the real world Yes they do but they look different in the sim and they do not occur very often. Probably an individual problem for me but I already tried different sets of clouds but it didn´t help. Best Regards, Holger Mut
October 13, 201510 yr Moderator Yes they do but they look different in the sim and they do not occur very often. Probably an individual problem for me but I already tried different sets of clouds but it didn´t help. So then, exactly WHAT is your problem? The fact that they are THERE or the fact that to you they don't look realistic? They are THERE because the metar says they are there - realistic is in the eye of the beholder - keep changing cloud sets until you find one you like OR if you know how - create your own. Anyone who has flown considerably IRL has seen them. I *think* what you are trying to say is that in the picture above there are popcorn clouds but no two look alike - in the sim when there are popcorn clouds you can see a repeating cloud structure. October 13, 201510 yr I have flown commercially for years and have seen them all the time. I guess I should have asked the pilot if he could change them for me.
