Murmur

Next time someone tells you aircraft in X-Plane have no inertia...

...compared to real life, show them this video. Look how this real life C210 rolls at 1.53. I'd estimate around 100 degrees/seconds, and with a very high rotational acceleration:

Since I can't actually see what the pilot is doing with the controls.......

When I quickly rolled a 172's ailerons to the left, and let go, the plane quickly rolled back right, past neutral and then settled to level flight. I was doing this real life test, for flight simulation purposes. If I did the same with my RV6, or a Pitts, it would just stay there for a bit. The Cessna had some very positive stability.  In this video, I don't know if the pilot is actively moving the yoke both ways, or letting go.

And there are good reason for a high wing showing that additional lateral stability, and yes Murmur, a well designed aircraft in any sim ( being it fsx/p3d, x-plane, dcs or il2 bos ) will make us smile ...

Recently I re-installed fsx to test the latest version of Accusim, which has been fine tuned by A2A to bring further aerodynamic calculations inside that module ( instead of using the default FDM in msfs ). Tested it and I liked what I saw :)

An aircraft that always surprised me in X-Plane 10 ( one of my first add-ons ) which although suffering from the torque bug, and not using any dataref tricks still behaved very convincingly under most circumstances, was the LES fc-3. It's still one of my preferred aircraft in X-Plane.

Ah! And I've seen a few people complaining about some aerobatic aircraft rolling lice R/C aircraft, when indeed they're doing it at realistic rates and stopping the roll almost instantly like we can actually see IRL...

It all depends on how they're designed, I believe, and now in X-Plane, it also depends on how far you Murmur can reach in your flight dynamics search and Austin can use that info to fine tune the core FDM in X-Plane... We can then expect even better performance ... Honestly, this is a far more important matter than having seasons, at least for me, but I admit I would also love to see the correct Moon phases, and the daylight coming to view like it does IRL and in MSFS...
