Lost most of my airplanes!

Featured Replies

Yes I lost almost all my default P3D v3 aircraft from the selection list tonight.  Anyone seen this happen?  Only a few remain (these exactly): Vertavia helicopter, the Civilan avatar, Robinson R22, Submarine Ohio Class, Submersible

I just got v3 today and haven't installed much so I'm not too troubled yet but I'm wondering what happened.  I just started P3D tonite (my PC was shut down from eariler today!)

I have seen this - it was me deleting them  :wink:

Thats a new one on me Ryan never seen this before - strange

Are the files in the simobjects folder and have the aircraft.cfg files been hosed or deleted some how ?

All folders are nestled safely in their P3Dv3/simobjects areas.

EDIT: Fixed!

I fixed this problem on my own.
 there are two directories in different locations with identical files

C:\Users\All Users\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

and

C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

What happened is my simobjects.cfg file (in the Users/All Users directory) was missing the Airplane entry... so I added it at the bottom:
[Entry.9]
PATH=SimObjects\Airplanes
TITLE=Default Airplanes
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true

Bingo, airplanes are all back!

look in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 for simobjects.cfg it should haveentries for all your default AC and rotorcraft like this..

[Entry.4]

PATH=Simobjects\rotorcraft
TITLE=default rotorcraft
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.5]
PATH=SimObjects\Airplanes
TITLE=Default Airplanes
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.6]
PATH=SimObjects\Avatars
TITLE=Default Avatars
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.7]
PATH=SimObjects\GroundVehicles
TITLE=Default Ground Vehicles
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.8]
PATH=SimObjects\Boats
TITLE=Default Boats

starting with [Entry.0]  mine is so as I have some addons I added..
