October 24, 201510 yr I click on the P3D icon and the splash screen appears and then nothing. I hear a click noise like it's actually starting with a knob being clicked but it's not showing anything. I check the task manager and there it is. So, I end the task and try again. Same thing. The splash screen shows and then it dissappears. P3D v3 never starts. The only fix I have seen is to go into the directory and delete the Prepar3D.cfg file which generally works. But then I have to go back in and reset everything yet again. It was working fine with all of my addons - no issues. Suddenly started happening. I have two clean installs.
October 24, 201510 yr I had the same issue with the mirgation tool installed. Try to uinstall and see if that helps. Svein T Multi Crew script and checklist
October 24, 201510 yr Author I had the same issue with the mirgation tool installed. Try to uinstall and see if that helps. Lol. I dont have the migration tool installed. There's really no need for it.
October 24, 201510 yr Author It looks like the issue was that I had the PMDG aircraft configured to run in the "startup scenario" of Prepar3D v3. When I removed this addon aircraft from the startup scenario, and allowed P3D to run its default aircraft, P3D launched successfully. So I just manually go into the vehicles section and select the PMDG 737NGX. It's an extra step but it works.
October 25, 201510 yr Yes, that has been recently confirmed that placing a PMDG aircraft into the default flight will cause issues. That extra step is safe and necessary. -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit
October 25, 201510 yr Author Thank's and sorry.. LOL? No need to apologize. I just never found the reason to use the migration tool. Yes, that has been recently confirmed that placing a PMDG aircraft into the default flight will cause issues. That extra step is safe and necessary. -Jim I never knew this - no one ever mentioned this as an issue until today. Funny, I posted it in three forums including Lockheed's but no such information.
October 25, 201510 yr I can remember from earlier FSX days, that one should not use a complex plane as a default startup scenario. It generally and usually eventually created severe problems. glad you got it sorted. October 25, 201510 yr If you install a Carenado aircraft and insert the CMeteoxml.dll into the dll.xml will cause v3 also to CTD on start up. Greetz MJ My youtube blog________________________Prepar3D v2.5/v3
