Anyone know if PMDG will offer a free upgrade from 737ngx(P3Dv2.x) to P3Dv3 ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone know if PMDG will offer a free upgrade from 737ngx(P3Dv2.x) to P3Dv3 ?

They clearly states:

This is compatible only with Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D. (v2.2.x - v2.5.x)

Couple of more question:

1. How do you install 737ngx(P3Dv2.x)  into P3Dv3 ?

2. Are their absulut NO issues running pmdg 737ngx(p3dv2x) in P3Dv3 ?

3. Do you thing pmdg willl advise or help if we ran into issue with 737(p3dv2.x) running in P3Dv3 ?

Thanks inadvanced

You should read this:

http://www.avsim.com/topic/475671-01oct15-prepar3d-v2v3-compatible-installers-available/

and

http://www.avsim.com/topic/476102-07oct15-some-bits-and-pieces-of-what-is-cooking/

There are installers for v3 but you will have to delete the NGX from v2.5, you cannot have duel installers.  Of course they will help if you have issues, it is PMDG afterall.

Go to PMDG website , log in -/ go to your account / previous order / download the base package and  737 6700 expansion from the download link.

You will get PMDG 737 8900 NGX base package P3D v2 or v3.exe and 737 6700 as well

Part of the readme :

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR Prepar3D USERS

=======================================================

THIS ADDON WILL ONLY INSTALL TO THE NEWEST VERSION
OF PREPAR3D.

If you have both Prepar3D v2.x and Prepar3D v3.x installed,
this product will install for Prepar3D v3.x.

If you have only Prepar3D v2.x installed, this product
will install for Prepar3D v2.x.

If you have only Prepar3D v3.x installed, this product
will install for Prepar3D v3.x.

If you have the product already installed for Prepar3D v2.x
and you subsequently install Prepar3D v3.x, you will need to
uninstall this PMDG product from v2.x in order to install it
in Prepar3D v3.x.

When in doubt, uninstall the PMDG product and then reinstall
it, but remember that it will always install for the newest
version of Preapr3D.

Hi,

I did, this was regarding 737 (other was for 777).

Anyhow, I think it is a fully valid question since they Explicit State "This is compatible only with Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D. (v2.2.x - v2.5.x)"

on their website.

If they already have made an installer ready for P3Dv3 for existing customers (owns the x7x for P3Dv2.5x) they should/could

spend some minutes to update their website. So this was know for new customer as well.
