GTN750 integration into Orbx Lancair (FSX)

Recommended Posts

After some frustrations, I managed to get the Flight 1 GTN750 integrated into the Orbx Lancair, with great results.

Everything is fully functional and the GTN750 integrates perfectly with the Sandel HSI too.  It really brings a new lease of life to the Lancair IV.

As you can see in the pic, this mod is currently using the default King radios, for Com2 and Nav2.   I chose these purely because they are default radios so everyone with FSX has them.

If you are confident with editing Panel.cfg files, you can replace these with a better looking option for your Com2 and Nav2 radios.    Be warned though; do not open the Orbx Lancair in FS Panel Studio;  it will corrupt the panel file!     ... edits of these Nav2/Com2 radios would need to be done manually.

The GTN750 mod requires that you have the latest (v1.3) version of the Orbx Lancair installed.

If anyone would like the modified Panel.cfg that provides the integration, drop me a PM.

PMs responded - hope you enjoy it guys.

As you'll have noticed in the above screenshot, the King Com2 and Nav2 radios look a little "stretched" (the round dials are oval!).

I've now corrected this, but it has required the use of a small home made gauge to provide a 'blanking plate' in between the King radios.

For anyone that wants this version (including the blanking plate gauge) again just drop me a PM.

Here is a pic of the new version using the blanking plate (and correctly scaled King radios).

As you might also notice in the above, I have edited the very small labelling on the main switchgear, to make it easier to read.   As you can see, they still need perfecting.   I cannot share that work as it would involve sharing a payware BMP file.

Thanks,

Does this work in FSX-SE? I mean Orbx Lancair in the first place?

Looks awesome btw.

Thanks,

Dirk.

Bill, could you send me the config meanwhile? PM inbound.

Hi Dirk,

I've never owned FSX:SE so not sure if the Orbx Lancair installs into it, but I can say that if it does, this mod will definitely work.   The main thing this mod is doing is applying the real-time gauge that Orbx use to 'flatten' the 3D modelling in the VC used for the 430s, and then place the GTN750 in the resulting spot.    So no isses with FSX:SE with any of that, as long as the base aircraft will install into it.

PM responsed with link.
