"Fixed" Position GPS Window

Hi,

 

I was wondering if anybody knew of a way (or a product) that allowed us to define a location in the cockpit for an extra window, like the GPS window?  What I'm looking for is a way to have the equivalent of a GPS strapped to my leg in the cockpit, so that when I glance down I can see it, but it doesn't follow me around the cockpit like it does at the moment.

 

It's help with aircraft that don't have a GPS (a la G1000 glass cockpit) without filling up a chunk of the screen all the time, and once we start seeing VR headsets becoming a bit more common with their head tracking I think it'd help to be able to look around the virtual space and have things not follow the view!

 

I used to just dump the GPS and a few other windows onto a second screen, but I'd like to get away from that solution if possible.

 

Anyway, hope someone can help.
