Livery Manager Issue

Recommended Posts

Not sure if me, or not, but if I select Tools -> Livery Manager -> Open Aircraft Folder I get a "unhandled exception" dialog. "Object variable or With block variable not set."

It's critical, but I wanted to let you know in case I wasn't the only one getting this.

Windows 7 - MS:FSX

Ups, what a bad topic. I hoped that every case of buggy aircraft.cfg files has discoverd but seems to be not. ;O)

Please do:

  1. Open SIMstarter
  2. Program settings
  3. Check "Debug logging"
  4. Open Tools > Livery Manager
  5. SIMstarter crashes
  6. Open SIMstarter again
  7. Undo "Logging"

You will find a file called "SIMstarter.log". This log file will show you the last aircraft.cfg he was able to read. The next one will be buggy in any case. If you do not find the buggy parts by your own, please send me the file via email.

We will fix that! ;O)

Sorry.. I thought that I had responded, but apparently only in my mind.

The issues is caused by selecting a bad option.

In the Livery Manager

1) Insure that you have no deactivated liveries,

2) select the "Show deactivated Liveries only" option in the drop down.

The "Installed aircrafts" list should be empty; no list, no thumbnails.

3) click on the "Open aircraft folder" option below the aircraft description that is showing; mine is the Airbus A321 Paint 2

You should get the unhandled exception dialog box.

It's an error that shouldn't occur, because the user shouldn't be selecting that combination, but every once in a while you get a user like me. :-)

Thanks for staying on top of this..

Ernie
