August 28, 200520 yr Like many that have been around a long time-there seems to be an awful lot of internet rage out there in the fs world-so it nice to see the other side of humanity in our virtual world-and luckily I was the happy recipient in a big way.As we post we become familiar with names-so when I got an email from David Lee out of the blue a month ago I recognized the name for sure from his posts on avsim. What was a shock was that he had read that I had become a Baron pilot recently, had an authentic throttle quad from a real Baron, and wondered if I wanted it-for free? My answer of course was yes-and David mailed me the unit along with his setup to make it work as a joystick, and lengthy instructions and ideas on how to make it work with Fs. I am now in virtual heaven and my faith in the goodness of our community is more than restored. I hooked the yoke up to my ch throttle and it works perfectly-and it is amazing how holding the "real" controls makes the experience 100 fold more alive-the difference in perceived reality is amazing. All I can say is what a generous act, it was totally unexpected, gratefully received, and I hope I can in turn do such a wonderful thing for someone in the future.So-David Lee-thanks from the bottom of my heart-and if you get to my part of the world we will go flying and dinner on me-and when I get to your part of the world likewise. In the meantime-you have made this simmer/flyer extremely happy....thanks!Doesn't it look great!Geof Applegatehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/125595.jpghttp://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

August 28, 200520 yr Moderator Well, and now you're gonna desert us ASEL guys for good, I can already see that coming ;-)Great story, thanks for sharing!! Like you, I've been around here since 1998 (I think) but this was a great gesture.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.71.89), CH Yoke/Pedals I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
August 28, 200520 yr Hey Pete-how's the training? With gas prices I am thinking of running back to a single as soon as I get a couple hundred hours.....http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

August 28, 200520 yr Geof,It's just great to see something like this going to a good home! I haven't been able to contribute much to the FS community in terms of freeware aircraft or scenery - for lack of talent, not desire ;-)I've been building my home cockpit for more than 10 years and as it evolves I try to share what I've acumulated with others who contribute to the hobby. I suspected you and the Baron quad would be a good match! Seriously, seeing it set up and in use is all the thanks I need. It was a stroke of luck that you already had the CH throttle. That definitely simplified things and should give you great control. Enjoy, Geof, and keep in touchDavid
August 28, 200520 yr Very cool guys. :-) Now if gas prices come down, maybe he can get that Baron down here to KC. LOL. Jeff D.
