PA31 with P3D V3.0

Hello all,

 

I have migrated to P3D and attempted to use the PA31 installer without success as it looks for an FSX installation that no longer exists on my system.I had saved the aircraft folder and nine gauge files from the previous FSX install and copied to the appropriate P3D folders.Everything works correctly in P3D accept the audio panel, there are no hot spots or switch settings functional.Turning reflections off had no effect as suggested on Carendo support.All other avionics are functional and I may have missed a specific file to copy for the audio panel.Has anyone has installed correctly into P3D V3 or is aware of a specific file required?

 

The installer file for the BE58 Baron worked perfectly into V3.

Check the path the Navajo installer is showing for your FSX installation, if there's a Microsoft Flight Simulator X folder there with stuff in it delete everything so you have just an empty Microsoft Flight Simulator X folder (or if the "stuff" has value, rename the existing Microsoft Flight Simulator X folder Microsoft Flight Simulator X.off and make a new empty one in it's place). Run the Navajo installer and allow it to install into FSX. Move everything the installer places there into your Prepar3D v3 folder.

I had uninstalled FSX before the Navajo install into P3D.The installer which would fail because it was looking for a FSX dll.xml path that no longer exists, I went through looking for old files or folders with no luck and each attempt would get the same result. If you use the installer you have to browse to the P3D V3 installation path and not select a 2.x version which is listed in the installer setup, got that from support but still no joy. So I have reinstalled a clean FSX to get back to square one and figured just install into FSX to start then install into P3D when the FSX side is good. I go to install into FSX and guess what? With the trouble shooting I run out of activations, emailed support again to revalidate.This hobby does require a fair amount of patience at times!

Does anyone have any info on when Carenado is releasing V3 installers?  I'm waiting to purchase the PA31 but am not keen on doing a hack job to wedge it into V3.

Agree that's pretty lame on their part.  Business is obviously too good to care....

 

I don't have a FSX installation - might go down the Estonia Migration Tool route.

I used the Estonia Migration Tool to install the Navajo.  When asked, I chose the option to install to FSX (which was then redirected by the migration tool to P3D).  Everything seems to be working fine here in P3D v3.

Yikes! Well it was no where near that list content, I am glad you did not post that before I started as I would have surrendered at first sight.Now works with no issues using KISS method. :smile:

Well it's really just a matter of moving the Carenado, Effects, Fonts, Gauges, Simobjects, and Sound folders into P3D3, all those individual files get moved in the process. Not nearly as bad as it looks. lol.

I used the Estonia Migration Tool to install the Navajo.  When asked, I chose the option to install to FSX (which was then redirected by the migration tool to P3D).  Everything seems to be working fine here in P3D v3.

Same problem here with PA31 installers into Prepare ver3. There is no FSX on my new PC only Prepare 3.

Tried the installation metoed with a complete empty FSX map. Installed the PA 34 ( 31 ) into here but there is no panel map, all others

gauges sound texture maps ok.

There is no help from Carenado, only the answer : Those your installation folder manual.

That don't work. Installers then need bla bla \ FSX\ dll. file.

I do not have FSX. Really need a new installer from Carenado, that work.

I have try install so many times that I now don't have more downloads on the PA31 and PA34.

Hope Carenado can help with that !

When I moved up to P3Dv3 and saw how good it was, I deleted my P3Dv2.5 folder. Now when I install v2 and "proper" v3 products  they all just go to this folder and everything has worked fine so far. I installed the Carenado Navajo and Seneca V through this route along with several other v2 (and v3) products from other publishers.

My system specs: Intel i9-10850@3.6 - 5.2 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 32GB  DDR4  RAM, Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler,1TB Seagate SSD, 4TB Seagate HD, Windows 10, Asus 32 inch monitor, Saitek Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, Rudder Pedals and Trim Wheel     Sims: MSFS2020      Preferred Aircraft  Black Square Bonanza, and Baron, A2A Comanche, PMDG DC-6, Red Wing L1049

I see Carenado now list the PA31 as P3DV2 compatible.

I guess that would mean P3DV3 as well.

Anyone tried the current installer into P3D?

The Navajo runs beautifully in P3D v3.2 but I don't remember how I installed it. Most of Carenado's installers that don't list P3D V3 as an option require you to install to the C: drive then copy the files over (I think they install to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Carenado Installer" or something like that... you need to copy all of those files to your P3D installation folder). Look around the forum for more detailed instructions on using this trick.
