P3D v3 and AMD

Recommended Posts

Surprised to NOT see a pinned of this or something, while I know that NVIDIA is best for fsx and such, and that's what most have, there are a lot of users with AMD and I have been searching to read up on this before buying and see that it plain put doesn't work. Initial flight loads and then after a few seconds it crashes with display driver errors.

So what's the deal..? I recall reading somewhere that it's a drivers issue, seemed to be on AMD side but no news of a fix??

I am running Catalyst 13.12  with no problems at all. I am on windows 7. I had problems with later catalyst versions on prepar3d 2.5 and rolled back to this version.

good luck to you.

Thanks, I have seen some people do that and others with 14.2 as well (althought even that works for some and not others for some reason).

In any case, I don't consider that a valid solution, as I have other fames to play and can't just have old drivers only for this.

Will be waiting on an update from AMD

All over the Prepar3d.com forum http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6312&t=113579

Seems they (AMD) have found the bug and will fix it. I guess it'll be in their big driver (Crimson) in a short while.

Yeah just found that last night. It's good to know at least that not only have they found what's wrong but also seem to be working together with LM to fix it...
