PMDG737 download speed

Just wanted to ask a quick question about the download speed of the NGX for P3DV3, I'm just trying to download the V3 version as I have the V2 version and fsx version and ever recall it being nearly a three hour download from my previous orders! is it me or is anybody else experienced this as well? my downloads are always pretty quick no problems but this has gone on for a few days now.

I just re-downloaded the 777-200 and 300 expansion last night to install in P3D V3, and each download took about 6 minutes. Where are you located? I know that PMDG uses the Amazon cloud to host their products for download, so it should be pretty fast.

 

I'm located in the US, and have never had any speed issues with PMDG, downloads, though some customers in Europe seemed to be having some issues recently as posted in another thread.

The 'local' server for you is only on the other side of NSW from you, so it shouldn't be too bad. Regardless, the speed issue is between the user and the AWS server. I've occasionally gotten really terrible download speeds because I was somehow getting routed to their server out on the west coast, when the east coast server is about 6 miles from my house. That's all routing and load balancing, though.

Also, I find using a download manager like FDM helps, it can create more "threads" if you will to the server than a browser, and download a bit faster.
