Which manufacturers won't let sim designers produce copies?

I know there's been some controversy surrounding Gulfstream and sim designers, but what other manufacturers are on the no-no list? I'm guessing due to the lack of Bombardier biz jets, they make the list of off-limits AC for designers? I'd kill to see a decent Global 6000 hit the market.

Bombardier evidently has no objection - there are numerous Lear models available for FSX, including the default Lear 45, and Aerosoft is producing the CRJ 700/900.

When I ran a company, it was the Directors and Managers who took that sort of decision - the lawyers were there to give advice.

In reality there's often no advantage to the company, and so it's simpler to say no rather than to waste time  getting in further involvement.

I would hazard a guess that it has more to do with protecting their trademarks and intellectual property, among other justifiable reasons.

I assume they might be worried that a sim could negatively affect sales for example if the flight model is incorrect or gives a negative impression of the aircraft some how.

I've been associated with Gulfstream for many years as a customer / maintainer of Gulfstream aircraft. I've been through many Gulfstream maintenance training schools, toured the factory in Savannah, spent time overseeing maintenance on our aircraft at GAC service centers in Savannah, Long Beach, Dallas and Luton.

 

With them, I'm very sure that it all about protection of the trademark - and that any prohibitions against the production of FS emulation of Gulfstream products originates from the corporate legal department. The company is extremely protective of its brand. Also very protective of its customers' privacy. Photographing aircraft on the flight line at any of their service centers is strictly prohibited.
