The only way to be absolutely sure of avoiding this problem now and in the future is to get the no CD crack.  It's free!

Unfortunately the no CD patch doesn't work either with this update installed.

The solution is  to delete the update(and avoid the reïnstall of it) or execute the workaround as published by Microsoft (see link by Ubersu above).

Well, the No CD crack certainly does work as many, many people will attest.

PMJI, but thanks!

FS9 would not run on my old laptop that does even have a dedicated graphics card, nor even an i3 level cpu, it is an intel Pentium R 2020M at 2.4 Ghz. I thought it was too under powered to boot up FS9 because that is below the i3 level. And only 4GB ram.

Turns out it was just the KP3086255 update that was problem.

I just now deleted that and FS9 runs just fine!

So MS is shooting down there own applications :?)

Psst, hey MS, those people with Indian accents whom you hire from over on the subcontinent are willing to work cheap at many types of duties, not just man your phone tech support. A huge company like yours might hire a few to test your own MS products, such as FS, before releasing Windows updates!
