Boeing 787?

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

like the topic suggests: I am looking for a 787 for P3D.

The dream would be a "PMDG-like" quality... I found the Qulitywings 787, but the last "status update" was from end of 2014.

That's now a year and google does not provide more information about this project.

Does anyone know more about it, or any other possible 787 solutions?

Otherwise I have to look forward to the PMDG 747, but I would really love to see a Boeing 787 or an Airbus A350.

Best regards,

Stefan

Actually, their last status update was just a few months ago. Here's the link to the forum post: http://qwsim.flight1.net/forums/qualitywings-status-update-3q2015_topic4731.html

Thanks a lot... I have no clue why I did not find it on Google  :fool:  :fool:  :fool:

Hoping for it to be released soon

It sounds really good except for this:

Will the product be made available for p3D v3.0?

We haven't even had a chance to check out V3.0 yet. We do not have any further comment on it.

Despite the improvements in P3D compared to FSX, really only a small percentage of FSX user have P3D. This is mostly due to LM's marketing of the product (and the license restrictions MS has placed them on). They cannot market and sell it as an entertainment product. So P3D it will never reach critical mass regarding product usage conmpared to FSX

A poll being taken on the Aerosoft forums suggests a different trajectory - albeit limited to users active on their forums.

I think that they'll absolutely make it for P3D v2 and 3. Many, many people are using P3D (as evidenced by both the Aerosoft poll and the uptick of traffic on the P3D forum here). Also, they can market it as a learning tool simply by stating "If you'd like to learn about the 787, buy this product!" It's not like they'd have to register it with some sort of education board or something. Also, most if not all payware developers who have recently created FSX addons have created P3D versions too, indicating a)there's a market for it and b)the whole "not an entertainment product" thing is unenforceable nonsense that nobody cares about in this context.

I agree with you hamoody that most probalby we will get it for P3D, but these were the comments directly from QW.

So let's hope the best!

Thread on QW's forum regarding P3D seemed rather bleak ... they were under the perception P3D was too small a market for them and license restrictions seem to be an issue for them ... per Ernie's comments quoted above and found here ...

See thread here (bottom): http://qwsim.flight1.net/forums/qualitywings-status-update-3q2015_topic4731.html

I completely disagree with Ernie's statement, information I have from some 3rd party vendors indicates sales are currently in favor of P3D not FSX.  So that's probably not the real reason ... more likely reason is QW aren't sure how they'd be able to license it for P3D.

Cheers, Rob.

Asking the right questions directed at the right people would be a good start for them. To be clueless about P3D licensing because they haven't been thinking one step ahead after such a long development cycle is pretty lame.  The flightsim market is more dynamic than its ever been and their sole focus has been a 10 year old platform....

I hope they work things out for P3D as this is my most anticipated aircraft ever - looks amazing - pretty sure it will get worked out in the end if not they will loose a bunch of money with the wind shifting to P3D

In my opinion they MUST release it for P3D - everything else would be business suicide. But we will see. Let's hope for the best.

If the quality is good I am willing to pay again like for the PMDG 777, never regretted one single Euro even though it was the most expensive piece of software I EVER bought (as far as I can remember).
