Flight1 B200, No support from their forum, FSX SE Problem

Recommended Posts

Seems I can't get an answer from the group, Flight1, a group I paid money to buy their product, so I am trying Avsim.

Registered on their support forum but no help.

Flight1 Beechcraft B200

I've been using this aircraft with windows 10, boxed FSX and no problems since summer.

Just rebuild my computer, and installed FSX SE.
Turned off all anti-virus, made folder exceptions, downloaded the latest version, and installed.
This was the only install that did not automatically find the FSX SE install directory.
I tried doing everything in safe mode, used the suggested download manager, compatibility settings, folder ownership, nothing worked.

No MFD, PFD, 2D panels.
Only shift 6 works.

Started with the preferred flight, etc, etc.
I've been through their whole forum, and tried everything that was suggested.

It looks like the addon is not properly licensed.  On the FSX boxed version, there was a long install of navigation files when you first ran it, not this time.

Any new ideas?

I have PMDG and Majestic products running flawlessly. ORBX scenery also.

Did you pull the Win10 UAC slider to the lowest level before you installed the B200?

Unfortunately, yes.

There is definitely some kind of problem with FSX SE, Flight1 and my Win10 relationship.

Which I can't figure out, since my most complicated addons work.

Did you try what Jeff Smith from Flight 1 suggested to you over at their Flight 1 forum?

I would try that first before saying they are not offering support?

J. Smith did offer support once I posted on AVSIM.

He suggested that Steam be installed outside the programs folder.

But...

I have Steam installed on a different drive from Win10, and FSX SE installed on another  drive.

Steam allows you to set up different install directories.  And maybe that is where there is a problem.

SSD1, Windows 10

SSD2, FSX SE

Drive 3, Steam program.

What is the exact path to your FSX:SE installation?

What is the exact SetupPath key for FSX:SE in the Registry?

You report that the installer couldn't find FSX:SE, so how did you manage to install the product? If the installer cannot locate FSX:SE, that indicates that the Registry entry is FUBARed, and the license key cannot be installed properly.

F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432NODE\DovetailGames\FSX

F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FSX

During the install, there was no auto locate of the folder, I used the browse button.

What is the AppPath key in this Registry entry:

HKCU "Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\flight simulator\10.0"

That is HKEY_CURRENT_USER

There is HKey_current_user but no Local_user.

HKCU "Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator

and

HKCU "Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator - Steam Edition

If you have only installed FSX:SE, then your Registry should look something like this. Note that I only have FSX:SE installed, and mine is installed to the D:\SteamLibrary... folder. When installers check the Registry, they will use whatever path is found in the AppPath key:

I have set the registries as above, and when I run the installer, it does find the correct install path.

Still has no effect, the addon acts like an unregistered product.

Tonight, I will see if moving the install file to the fsx folder has any effect.

Right now I am running the install file from C:\flight1

I recently purchased MyTraffic 6, and it installed to the correct location.

Flight1 B200 for FSX SE version 1.4 will not work.

I've read other posts of problems with version 1.4, either you get lucky for some magical reason and it works, or like myself and many others, it does not.

Re-installed an image of windows with no fsx registry entries, and did all the required installs and methods, and still no gauges.

Good luck to all on your future decision to purchase Flight1 B200 for FSX steam or P3D.

Great.

How about I send you my gauge file and see if it works on your system?

Did you install it through the Flight1 wrapper (red airplane) using "reinstall"?

I have had this problem before when trying to reinstall from the extracted files in your Flight One Software folder instead of using the purchasing wrapper.
