September 6, 200520 yr Actually it's the outstanding Falcon 50 from Yannick Lavigne, Rob Young, etc. Rob IS a payware developer. You may know him from Real Air :-)
September 6, 200520 yr Yep, already have it (8 pages back, LOL) http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=270856&page=8Nice dig at payware. I have most GA payware (and a lot of scenery) and don't have anything that was a regret, especially when I know how much time is involved in addon development these days. While the new falcon is nice, it isn't a new model, simply an addon and tweaks to the existing source files, which takes considerably less time.BTWE Eric Dantes is a payware designer alsoRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
September 6, 200520 yr Hi T,A great majority of payware developers spent a great deal of time putting out free stuff long before they got into commercial addons. Some of us still give away free energy and time (in my case for Maam sim's products, which although payware, go to a museum and all who work with Maam do so for free). I know many other developers who still create freeware alongside payware.Perhaps you were making sweeping assumptions.I assume, unless you are lucky enough to have an inheritance, lottery win or have state assistance, that you work for a living too.....Kind Regards,Rob Young Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
September 6, 200520 yr Commercial Member >So glad to see that there are designers,>programmers and developers who are not DRIVEN by the dollar>and RULED by greed.I suppose you do your job for free? Care to tell the professional developers how it is you manage to put in all those hours for free and still manage to eat? Greed has absolutely nothing to do with it when you're talking about addons that now regularly take in excess of 1.5 to 2 years to develop. You certainly can't accuse the major companies of not doing things for the community either - PMDG for instance has funded the USA-W VATSIM server for years now out of their own pocket and free of charge. People like Rob Young or Mikko from DF still contribute to freeware on a regular basis as well. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
September 6, 200520 yr I actually look at it this way. They hone their skills and develop their talent doing freeware in their part time / free time. When a developer shows exceptional promise and skill - someone offers them the opportunity to turn a part time hobby into a full time career. Some choose to keep FS as a hobby and maintain their previous career, some choose to make the leap into the unknown.More power to them - because I have never met anyone not driven by the almighty dollar. We humans seem to have a need for food and shelter.
September 7, 200520 yr Donny AKA ShalomarFly 2 ROCKS!!!You should open the aircraft .CFG file and change "inlet area" to 1.4 as per Mr. Young's previous advice, it was changed from the previous version and performance is not as close to reality as it could be as a result.Best Regards, Donny
September 7, 200520 yr That is weird. Do you have a clue what it takes to develop this stuff and polish it then make it available for download? Give me a freaking break! DRIVEN by the dollar eh? What the hey, are you on welfare or what? That is ugly!Yes, great plane the falcon50. So happy to see it for FS9.Cheers,Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. September 7, 200520 yr Well, this one got out of hand real quick guys. I really don't think that there was any real intention to offend here, but the original statement was a tad harsh. In his defense, there are some payware aircraft out there that are not up to par, but others that have set whole new benchmarks. Of late, we have seen some great pay releases ( you all know them ). I myself have pluncked down well over $150 US this year on pay aircraft and haven't been dissapointed by a single one yet. But don't tell my wife or I'm dead. That being said, the Falcon 50 marked a whole new level in flight sim design when it was originally released several years ago, and regardless of what some folks are gripeing about in other post, it has stood the test of time nicely, thank you. I was thrilled to see it again and grabbed it up several days ago. Guess what, I still love it. Thanks to all who brought us this beauty in the first place, and thanks for the update too. BTW, Rob, that Spitfire is ungodly good , and Breifing Time is still my favorite. Nice work sir.
