Captains,

As previously announced, PMDG Simulations will be opening a PMDG Simulation Center near our headquarters just outside of Washington, DC.  We anticipate the center taking delivery of it's first simulator about mid-year 2016, with the first customer flight sessions to take place shortly thereafter.

Some of you have seen images of our simulator test article, which has been built by Flight Deck Solutions of Ontario, Canada.  This simulator has been complete for some time, and has been actively in use remotely while we test out a massive amount of new software capability that we have had to design in order to run the simulator in a top-notch fashion.

We have partnered with NatViz out of Australia to design and implement our visual system, and obviously Flight Deck Solutions is handling all of the hardware.  Together, our three companies have a very exciting, highly realistic simulator product on our hands, and we are looking forward to having the 747-8 up and running here in Virginia during 1Q16.

The 747-8 will not immediately be available to the public, as it is a test and integration suite, and will be used for a number of PMDG directed projects initially, before finally being moved over to the sim center for use by anyone who has a love for Boeing's latest 747 iteration.

In the mean time, this means that our SECOND simulator build with FDS will actually be the first one customers get to use and fly.  With that in mind, we thought it was a good time to ask:  "What airplane do you want to fly MOST?"

With each aircraft type, we are planning to offer a range of experience packages that are specifically tailored to the aircraft type, with customization allowing you to choose the airline, region, origin and destination, etc.  You will be able to spend time receiving instruction from a member of the PMDG Simulation Center staff, who can teach you proper flows and procedures, normals, abnormals, supplemental procedures, or just be a good stick-buddy while you fly around enjoying the view and making rubber marks on every runway you can find.

In addition, we will have specifically designed LOFT exercises (Line Oriented Flight Training) that allow you to fly a single leg, a series of legs or an entire day's flight schedule in the role of the line pilot faced with a range of challenges including mechanical irregularities, changing weather and other challenges to let you see "what it is really like" out there in the wild blue!

(For example, our 737 Line Pilot Day experience will allow you to fly a series of short legs based upon the schedule of a real world operator, while a weather event moves into the region in which you are flying.  Your briefings and decision making will get progressively more complex as the day goes on- forcing you to apply the techniques you are learning in real-time, as PIC.)

For long legs, of course we can always use the time acceleration to skip the long dull parts, if you like.  Or not...  It will be entirely up to you!

So...  To get back to the question...

Assume you could come and spend a day with us...  Which airplane would you MOST want to fly?:

My vote is for the 747.

I started my serious flight simming on the PS1 747. I studied the crap out of the 747. I then graduated to FSX and PMDG's 747. Before my real world aspirations of being an airline pilot were crushed, I was determined to fly the 747. With all of that said, there really isn't another choice for me.

I couldn't find the MD-11 button ;-)

Just joking guys, I hope this works out for you. Though why you don't want to set it up here in Warsaw is beyond me ;-)

I think 1 Heavy and 1 Non Heavy is best, you can do tings in a 737 that you might not be able to do in a wide-body. 737 was my vote, 747-800 after testing is complete that would be great then switch over to the 737 and go into smaller fields etc.
