Is the TM Warthog Hotas working with Prepar3d v3 now?

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I'm thinking of getting a Warthog Hotas for this Christmas.   I just need a bit more space on my table sometimes. I have a Saitek pro Flight Yoke at the moment and the Saitek Rudder Pedals.

I heard that some (all?) people have issues with their Warthog Hotas in Prepar3d v3. Is this problem still there? I have Win 8.1 64-bit installed.

Thanks for a quick reply and all the best from Switzerland

Hi Birger

The WH joystick and throttle work on my install with W7 but the TARGET software which launches the combined HOTAS doesn't. I do not use FSUIPC.  On a related (?) matter my CH pedals work but are not recognized as such in the control panel.

I have been using mine without issues from the beginning in W10.  I do not use TARGET though and just assign axis/buttons in the simulator.

Thank you so far.

Did i understand that right? I own the FSUIPC full version. If i configure all axes and buttons with FSUIPC and unload Target, all Axes and Buttons should work as configured and intended?

Best regards from Switzerland

Mine's worked since day 1 with P3dv2 & 3 on Win7 and now Win10.

I don't use Target. Everything is assigned and calibrated via FSUIPC and / or LINDA.

No probs here with the TM Warthog with all versions of P3D. Im using FSUIPC+LINDA. I dumped TARGET long time ago since it sucks. Im having DCS A-10 as well so no need for TARGET.

The Warthog is worth every cent. It is sturdy heavy and feels like the real deal. When configured right you will never go back. The most important buttons you need on the stick will be the elevator trim commands. Otherwise you will have somekind of fatigue in your right hand. Gotta say that i have the second stick as i broke my first one. I wanted to have an extension for helicopter flying. I broke the plug on the base of the stick. For now im using the TM Warthog for fighter jets only. For heloflying i got me a set of Komodosim helicopter controls.

I would go for the Warthog, just my suggestion.

I can't afford a Warthog, but have been using the Thrustmaster T16000M which has the same hall effect sensors as the Warthog rather than pots. You set it up once and it never drifts, compared to a stick with pots.

My Warthog worked "out of the box" in Win7/P3D. As others have said, I did not use the Target software - just directly assigned axes and buttons in P3D and FSUIPC.

Same, but. I am wondering...you didn't install the driver?...I think I've used mine over multiple OS installs.

I got my Thrustmaster Warthog about a week and a half ago. I assigned all of the axes and most buttons via p3dv3, and some via FSUIPC. Works great, although for my airliners, the aircraft wants to turn left during flight but not on the ground (turboprops are OK); I understand that p3dv3.1 will fix this.

I am running Win10. I had to throw away my Saitek Pro Flight Cessna yoke, since the Saitek drivers (even the beta) interfered with Win10. I ran out of patience.
