Sensitivity of Lear autopilot NAV function

Recommended Posts

I use the GTN750 in the Lear in P3DV3 -  I notice that when I ARM the NAV function after t/o, I need to be fairly close to the course line or it won't capture. If my takeoff heading is 180 from the course, I must manually make the turn after takeoff or it will not arm. Is this by design?

You have to be within 2NM of the track according to their reference manual, I see the same with the 430.

Yep, affirmative, in fact, in some aircraft like PMDG, you can not arm LNAV  to an assigned leg(Not from present point) unkess you are within what they call:  Intercept angle...  Bet its something related as CW46 said..

May be i will learn more about it when starting my Instrument Course in january...

Happy flying...
