FO nut turn up the flaps after landing

Recommended Posts

ould you let us know what we need to make sure of for this not to happen until next version is released?

It's out of your control as the triggers are environmental base.

But as the weather warms up, you'll stop seeing it  :Tounge:

As mentioned, if the FO doesn't bring up the flaps, just retract them manually till I release the update.

Oki doki, just puzzled I didn't see this before. Up until the last couple of flights he retracted the flaps leaving them at 15 rather than leaving them in their landing position.

I think some things are just a one time occurrence too, as was already mentioned. Last night for instance, when I called for takeoff flaps 5, I see the flap indicator moving past 5 and it kept going all the way to 40. I had to reset it back to 5. Wouldn't have been a very good takeoff with 40 degrees of flaps.

Sounds like the flaps movement check also performed during cold weather procedures but usually the flaps are then retracted again.

That could be because I was in Halifax NS and it was pretty cold out and snowing. I didn't give it time to retract by itself.

Yep, next time it happens to you just allow the FO to start retracting the flaps which will happen a couple of seconds in the 40 position and you'll then be able to command your takeoff flaps position.

Flaps 40 might not be the most optional takeoff position as you already said

You were correct. Same thing happened this evening from Detroit in another icy snowstorm. Flaps went from 0-40 back to 0.  Found out that they could be set pre takeoff when at the runway to 5,   Thanks for the tip.
