You can't compare the previous versions to this one - simply incomparable...

 

Actually, I would like to have anything near in FSX or X-Plane, but not, no add-on, can even get close.... by a light year...

So you are saying the last version has better dynamics than all of the previous versions - more feeling of flying something with power ?

 

And you have stated cant get close - so does this mean i am right in saying it still does not have the flightsimulator feel of flying instead of that feeling of floating under powered ?

Richard, yes, this new version - and although I spent 99% of my simmer life playing civil sims, mostly tubeliners, and stuff like ELITE for IFR trainning, PS1 and PSX for the 744... etc - I did try a few combat flight simulators, including the original IL2 ( Maddox Games ) and Cliffs of Dover with the latest patches, and I am also a DCS World user.

 

And what I was saying when referring to the quality of the flight dynamics is exactly the opposite of what you understood - not even the best add-ons you can name for FSX or X-Plane can come close to the level of detail and sophistication offered bi IL-2 BoS... ( DCS World even better in some aspects, not so better on other and that's why they're now my 2 sims of choice and use ...)

Hi Rich, I agree with Jose, IL-2 BOS is fantastic. Best flight sim I have ever flown and I go back to MS CFS 3.  Between X Plane (Just Bought it) P3D and IL-2 BOS, I stay real busy!

Thanks Lamar so it has more of a feeling of flying compared to its predecessors - dont want to buy it and find out its still arcade (floating with no feel of power) hard to explain - thank you

Is it me, or has there been an unusual shift towards these combat sims?  IL-2 was amazing when it came out BTW... long time ago.

My shift was mainly due to the disappointment with the flight dynamics and overall physics modeling in civil sims...

 

I decided to experiment, and ... got hooked....

OK, I'd just like to say that I suck as a pilot as much in IL2-BOS as I do in Rise of Flight. Try to do hard turns, the airplane stutters and then goes into an unrecoverable spin and I die.

I don't know what to say , doing a 360 at low altitude in the Mig 21bis and watching the horizon is wow.

DCS is THE BEST... I know... but IL-2 BoS is THE BEST TOO :-)

And you would love the Nevada terrain, but for that you really need a better platform to run it on, otherwise you will not be able to profit from all of it's amazing features!
