Floats and amphibians AC bumping

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Since P3D v3.1 planes are bumping on the water and it's impossible to land with an amphibian aircraft.

Does anyone knows if threre's a fix for that?

Thanks :--)

Best regards,

Haven't seen a fix yet David but it does appear to be aircraft related. I can takeoff and land the Quest Kodiak with no issues. The Aerosoft Catalina also, however the Aerosoft Twotter bounces around.

I have found that if you disable crash and wait for it to settle, all goes well.

Personally, I leave crash detection off, too many "hidden" things in scenery to run into.

Thank you Vic, I also turn off crash detection by default.

Nice to know that it's not a LM issue and I hope Carenado will release a fix for their amphibians AC soon.

Happy New Year  :-)

It is an LM thing. Go to Pago Pago (if you have that scenery) and watch the large ships in the harbor. They are rocking and rolling (Chuck Berry for sure) like there is a hurricane but the wind is mild. Too much physical wave action over visual action.

Not sure if its the issue, I read somewhere that in v3.1 the water at max slide gives such issues, try to move the water slide back a bit it might fix the problem.

Same issue here, I've tried the A2A Accu-sim Cub and Aerosoft Twin Otter.... total mess on the water, bouncing around like a toy duck.

Disappointing, as that new water is soooo pretty to look at.

Like a bikini model I suppose, look but don't touch ha

Bouncing seems only to occur when water is set to 'ultra'. If you set it to 'medium' or "high", the problem appears to be solved.

That's correct, thanks for the tip Chris.

Let's hope LM will fix this "ultra" high priority bug soon! :-)
