Have you tried increasing the cloud shadow draw distance slider in the settings?

No obvious improvement by increasing the draw distance. For me the fix is simple to keep the shadows pale and avoid shading them, it makes the effect less apparent.

I noticed this over the weekend - just flying GA real low, the cloud shadows became, essentially, rectilinear and... ah... all "stretchy" if I pan my view.
