Recommended Posts

Just saw a tech blog write-up on Avegant's new "Glyph" retinal imaging display.

Available for pre-order at a substantial discount.

Any early adopters out there up to the task?

This would have been hot if it came out 2 years ago. It's not VR and it's going to get overshadowed by the upcoming VR "feeding frenzy".

Also, 1280 x 720 is quite low resolution. Lots of add-ons in FSX and P3D use high quality graphics and I imagine that these would look quite fuzzy viewed at this resolution. Even the upcoming release version of the Rift is only 1080 x 1200 per eye, so still much lower than the average monitor resolution. Trying to read instruments without moving in closer is not going to be great. The experience is supposed to be amazing but the resolution needs to be a minimum of 1680x1050 (my old monitor which was OK for FSX) to really make it usable with complex add-ons.
