Since last posting, I rolled back W10 to W7. There is no General10.fx. But, there is a General.fx. It is 18kb and the date is 21/8/2006. There are 5 other General folders of various designations. All are dated back to 2006. This is way over my head....and I do appreciate your help. Perhaps I should uninstall and reinstall the Fixer?

No, there is no problem with the fixer. have you reinstalled fsx recently? have you perhaps installed fsx and not installed sp1 and sp2.

Bingo, Steve....I realized only a few minutes ago that I had neglected both service packs. I think that was also the root cause of several ORBX reinstallation failures that have been plaguing me for days. As I am typing this, I am in the process of installing both SPs. Thanks for bearing with me. I have been involved with computers and FSims since the first FS4 on a Commodore 64. At this point I should know better....fortunately, I am a 74 year old "gentleman of leisure"  :-), with plenty of time to correct my errors. :-)

Steve, you are the best. People who own and use The Fixer should think of you in the way owners of Ford Motor Cars in the 1930s might have felt if Henry Ford came out to do repairs on their cars. Thanks!
