fsx-ms The sky is different shade of blue on the horizon and it's weird

I don't know what is causing this.  Has anyone seen this before?  It's like the stratosphere is a darker blue or something.

FTX Global + Vectors

REX Texture Direct w/ Soft Clouds

SweetFX with MasterEffect (this isn't causing it cause it still has a difference in the shades with SweetFX disabled)

Fly higher and it would be a even darker blue - Though those vertical banding on the horizon does look strange and horrible. Then again maybe that's JPEG artifact.

Yes. The lighter blue nearer the Earth is caused by the scattering of sunlight in the denser air. As the air gets thinner this happens less and less. Watch some space station footage some time and see what a black "sky" looks like, no matter how much sunlight there is.
