Humberside Xtreme Released by UK2000

Recommended Posts

Very nice! I'll press some more of those into service at Humberside.

You can't spot/track them as you usually do AI, because the model is invisible, to allow the VTOL animation... great models nonetheless.

Actually, if AI helo's are to do this, one could just whack the Stemme air file into some wheeled models, sure I have some Dutch stuff from way back, S-92 and the like.

Eh? ..Is that why I cannot get it's airfile to work on other models?

Here is a FlightRadar pic of a EGNJ Rwy 20 arrival. (The AW139 has wheels btw ...not like the pic)

Yes of course the AW139 is wheeled... brain fart, I was wondering if I could turn the ICARO model into conventional AI, while looking at the Police helo which has skids.

I haven't found any clips of helo traffic, except one of the Coastguard S-92 departing.

But certainly all the operators used wheeled gear out of there.

Yes the UTT and some other advanced VTOL have very clever mdl/air files which would not transplant. But the Stemme air file has been used very well for many wheeled applications; Holger Sandman did some too, they are out there.

(the three of us) FS9 rotary wingers to have a great time

Make that four:)

found me a nice MIL-MI-8.

Is that the Nemeth offering? I haven't got it but have a very nice freeware one from the avsim.ru site.

Edit: I read on and see it is the Vladimir Zhy. version. YOur photoreal paint set me off on the wrong track. Very nice!

The wonderful UTT AI S-76 heli departing EGNJ with ATC. Very impressive for normal AI.

Yet to see one land at EGNJ yet but I'm sure it will be just as good. My F1 helos are flitting about the oil/gas fields.

That heli moves like the real thing! I have never seen any AI helos, any tips on where to start to get some? I have only ever added standalone packages to AI. I don't know the first thing bout compiling flight plans and such.

Cheers,

Sascha

Sascha, the helos under discussion here are payware:

First, Heli Traffic 2009 from Flight1: this wonderful package takes any aircraft in your sim, and makes it fly realistically to helipads of your choosing. No special skills required, tick the boxes of what you want to see! There are more advanced features too, but you'll have it flying in no time.
Second, as in Ed's clip above, is a range of very clever AI helos from UTT
I have the S-76 and EC120 packs, huge works with dozens of aircraft and purpose-written AFCADs for the worldwide fleet. You can plug them into the Flight1 product for extended AI use as well!

I'm sure Ed will be nosing around the Mi-8 packs there, too :)

Although this is not Humberside, I can only recommend the UTT Mi-8. Comes in many, many versions, military and civilian, and there is a huge lot of repaints at avsimrus.com.

Having got very excited about the UTT S-76 I thought I would be purchasing the EC120, Mil Mi-8 and then be begging for more.

But I thought I'd check a landing first. I wrote a flight plan for the S-76 between EGCC and EGNJ.

She took off perfectly. I followed her all the way to EGNJ.

Things were looking good, she lined up with rwy 20 and began her descent ....and then it all went to pot. She did a big loop and approached the runway at 0 feet.

I may be doing something wrong but it was very disappointing.

I take it all back. Perhaps the real weather was too much for it the first time.

This time I just added a gentle wind to get the right runway 20 approach and....

A hover turn into the taxiway!.....how cool is that! :Cowboy:

Harald, I am very tempted by what you show...

But first to the topic in hand:

Ed, that is an interesting result!

But I suspect that AI helos want to go to EG3J not EGNJ.

It's a rare and specialised world, AI rotaries, all the elements conspire to make it work!

Meantime, I find I do have a CHC repaint for my beloved AW139, the granddaddy helicopter of FS9 (and for that matter, any sim)

I am a little rusty on it, but They say:

Any landing you walk away from...

I have not used any of the UTT flight plans or afcads. I have written my own afcads and plans especially for the HUY action.

Very nice AW139 WingZ! But I do think the S-76 is the prettier machine..... I'll stick with her.

If you guys want more AI helicopters check out the JYAI Blackhawk family (can be downloaded on page 20 in the download section of the MAIW website). And the MKAI Puma/Super Puma family (search MKAI Puma on avsim). These helicopter land and take off beautifully.

PS: More downloads of the Puma/Super Puma can be downloaded at the MAIW website.

Getting back into the helicoptering action... the EC135 also a long-time favourite.

I will bring some more UTT traffic here to satisfy Ed's taxiing theory

There is a Helipad at the remote end of the cross runway which will qualify for VTOL I suspect, and the skids will go there.

IS there a better way to look at a scenery, than from a rotary wing?

Nice video WingZ! I have to get civilian AI helicopters in my sim. I have military AI helicopters, but no civilian AI helicopters.

WingZ, thank you for the information. I hope I'll get round to installing some heli traffic one of these days ... Maybe the Heli Traffic 2009 is one for me. But seems steeply priced at 24.95$. I'll have to think about it. Do you need to set waypoints for each rotor you want to see or does it come with ready traffic?

I agree, I have the remote pad set for F1 traffic  :Cuppa:

You have some Helo driving skillz WingZ! :dirol:

Working on my chariot .... lot's to do ..... been a beutch! :Nerd:
