Complete feature list for the 777?

Recommended Posts

Very interested in buying this plane but so far only found the short feature list on the main 777 page at PMDG site. I know there is much more to this plane than that so is there a full feature list?

Want to know all the toys, bells and such for this plane to make a decision. Also will it ever get the in vc EFB such as CS has?

The CS 777 "EFB" is just a chart viewer. You have to populate it with charts yourself, and it cant read PDF, so you have to convert any PDF charts to jpeg, png, etc. There is far more to the EFB than charts and that is why it isn't featured yet, if ever, in the PMDG 777. The PMDG 777 is a totally immersive and very convincing simulation. Mention of individual features is superfluous as it's the integrated immersive simulation which makes it so good.

The summary on the product page covers most of it at a top level. It doesn't mention the datalink simulation which I find useful and immersive. Nor the turn around simulation which simulates aircraft turn around at the gate in real time. Basically everything visible (and a lot that isn't) is simulated (except the EFB).

You really only get familiar with the bells and whistles when you start flying the tutorial. If you watch Kyle's youtube tutorials they will give you a flavour of what is included. You will also hear the sounds which are extremely good.

It's up to you, but I don't think you would regret buying it.

Thanks, still want a complete feature list. Before spending 150 bucks I want to know exactly what I am getting.

You will be getting the most accurate simulation of a 777 that's possible on a home PC, and also a product that's endorsed by Boeing themselves.

To be fair, boxed FSX received similar endorsement back then - But for all I can tell it's still -the- most accurate simulation of a 777 out there nearly on par with some level D simulators minus the motion platform, and just short of the actual thing as far as flight-relevant systems are concerned.

The introduction manual would have made a good read here...Maybe, just maybe, PMDG could release that on their product page just so people could get a taste of what to expect.

It would be easier if you listed your desired features, because frankly a complete feature list is something open to interpretation.

The simulation model is based on Boeing data under a commercial license and the technical development test team included many B777 pilots. Not saying it's as real as it gets, because it is a PC-based simulator, but it is pretty good.

You ask what you need and one of us will respond.

I don't know what I need,,,,what is so difficult about giving the prospective buyer a complete feature list that almost every other developer has?

Because there are too many features to list that I know about. And there are probably a lot that I don't know about.

Sometimes you need to do things based on faith in the developer. Get the T7. You will like it.

Paul, the best you're gonna get out this is what is available on the PMDG Product page and your questions.... it really is easier to say what this product does not simulate of the real aircraft:

Not included are EFB, ADS-B, ARINC424 navdata (navdata is real world updated every cycle from 3d party but not in ARINC424 format), full internal passenger cabin model (partial is provided), optional crew rest stations in either overhead or belly not included, or the emergency evacuation systems.  Pretty much everything else in the Flight Crew Operations Manual 2500 pages is included, including the Boeing FCOM, FCTM and QRH documents.

If you don't know what to ask I'm not sure what to answer.

I sold new cars for many years and I never had a customer come in and say "I am buying this on rep alone,,don't even tell me the features".

I will not spend $150 dollars without knowing all the features of this plane.

Paul,

There is no all inclusive list of features for the aircraft.  As previously stated a number of times here now,  the list would be incredibly long and still probably miss a large number of items that were done.  If it was possible to do in the realm of the simulator platform, we did it.  If there any specific questions you have about features or items you are interested in you can certainly ask or submit a support ticket and we can try to help you.  If that doesn't satisfy your quest for knowledge then perhaps read any of the large number of reviews on the aircraft or watch any of the many YouTube videos that have been produced using the aircraft.  It should give you a pretty good feel for what it does.

You won't be sorry you did. If you can find Capt. Randazzo's post about the release of the 777 it will give you a pretty good idea of features.  Kyle's vids are also a great view of systems and tips.

Paul, you won't regret. The biggest problem is that you will not feel the same immersion with other aircrafts addons you used to like. The T7 along with the 737 are by far the best money I've spent in FSX, they worth every cent.
