Recommended Posts

i could only get 140kts from her at 6000 ft with clear weather...how can 2 engines give less speed than a 182?

Two horses do not run faster than one :)

Besides that, the cruise speed should be around 160kts.

Just checked one of my PFE logs, cruise speed was 157kts at 8000ft in mostly clear weather.

I just tested it: Level flight at FL60, flaps and gear retracted, 33 gallons of fuel in both tanks, leaned for maximum performance, throttle at 100%:

Clear weather: 163 KIAS

Current weather in northern Germany (i.e. quite cold): 169 KIAS

Edit: And if I manually set the outside temperature at 6000ft to -40°C, it easily makes 182 KIAS ... don't try this at home :)

Full tank is the default and I think should last 6h, but as most of my flights are 1-2h, I usually start with 50% fuel. The 337 flies much better this way :)

Hi Folks,

Keep in mind 140 knots IAS at 6000 feet on a standard day is about 153 knots TAS - which may add some confusion for the OP...

Regards,

Scott
