All contact details, and how to get your own copy of EVO2015/16 is within that forum.  If you add a post directly to Sascha, he will answer for any question you might have.  A very friendly, and most helpful dev...

I too am pursuing EVO and saw this post.

 

I am a little concerned regarding Sesquashtoo comment in that, if one has to donate before being given a link to the download, I would think that this is not, in fact, freeware.  Please do not think I am anti AVO or Sascha, and if I can just find how to donate and how much to donate, I am very much going to donate, in order to get this software.  It really looks fabulous.

 

My point is if I donate x dollars and somebody donates less than x dollars, am I getting ripped off or is Sascha being ripped off by the lesser donation.  If this this software is as good as it looks then why not just make it payware in the first instance ... at least everyone will be paying the same amount for the product.

 

It could also be that I am looking at this from a very wrong point of view and it is very definitely NOT my intention to upset anybody.  If I am looking at it in a distorted way then I would appreciate a polite  redirection and further directions for buying or getting this software.  

 

Go for it Sascha and good luck to you for your obvious efforts.

It's not outright, freeware, Tony, and hello

 

You donate what you think is truly equitable.  You know what you pay for other products of similar design and function.  So, donate what you feel is from that top range, and less than, to whatever you think this type of software, in your opinion, should be priced at.  If it serves your purpose, and brings you much joy-of-use, then perhaps, donate a figure between freeware, and full commercial asking.  Donate what makes YOU feel you are not 'ripping' off anybody else's industry.  If you'll sleep at night, so will I imagine, will Sascha.   I hope this helps the quagmire.

 

The obvious reason to myself, that some use the Donation Access for download link, or outright give you the link, and then also ask for a donation to support the work....both scenarios...., is this. If you ask a set price, it is considered income to you. By all standards of any revenue service, whether in North America, or in Europe...the world for that matter, it will be considered as self-employed income.  By asking for a donation, it sits in the grey area of what is, and what is not considered income, to trigger a tax submission, from a Revenue Service of Country.  So...by venue of 'donation', it does not add to, or take your normal income into the next tax strata.  

 

This is what I feel is behind the donation, vs. outright 'here it is...and here is my asking price....  I could be wrong. I also, could be quite right.

 

If you feel that your contribution to Sascha  is fair compensation for the joy, user-satisfaction, and smile it will bring to you...then it will probably be a 'fair' price for the right of usage.

 

Go to the EVO forum in AVSIM's 'Freeware' forum...and you will see how you donate, usually PayPal, to whom...and make sure your email address is the one you want Sascha to upload a link to you.

 

You can also PM him, here, on AVSIM, and ask him to give you the outright steps, to have your donation reach him..and the access link, made back to you.

 

Once he has done that...you will have full access to the entire EVO2015/16 world texture suite, as well as that link can be revisited any time you wish, for updates of which he is continually supplying.  This product has re-birthed totally, FS9 for myself as a FULL contemporary of FSX, P3D, and XPX.  I have no hesitation to firing up FS9.99...to take any type of flight now.  The biggest laugh of all...is that if you go to the Chicago area, the G.C.A...with ORBX's Global...you see farm fields around the entire hundreds of square miles...around Chicago, around KORD, etc. With EVO2015/16, in the same area...you see houses, commercial buildings, residential buildings enmasse, over each square mile.

 

You see fabulous 3D lighting over EVERY SQUARE MILE around Chicago...to make you feel the human occupancy density of the area.  The area is not farm fields, like it was in 1899....no...it is one of the mostly densely packed of habitation...and where do you see that, as you climb out in day or even better at night-------FS9 and EVO2015/16

 

That's where you feel you are flying over inhabited landscape.  Again...ESPECIALLY at night...it is simply wonderful, when you look out your cabin window...in a twin....and see the density of the 3D lighting....WOW..and WOW!  

 

If you use Ultimate Terrain products......make sure that you ONLY have the Major Roads clicked off..and ONLY the Major Roads Enhanced Lighting box clicked off. No other U.T. road to use. Then, you will see the fabulous 3D light (embedded into the textures) density of EVO. I also suggest you make sure to install Sascha's latest HALO from his 2016 update folder.  It gives a slight, very slight light refraction distort to the orb...and looks the best that I have seen anywhere.  

 

So..you got me in an early morning 'coffee ' typing fest...  I hope some of my information makes it easier for you to bring FS9, to simply flight simulation, Rock 'N' Roll....   Stellar system performance, driving stellar graphical visual content.  This package will literally give you everything that the FS9 graphics engine is capable of displaying...and trust me...it is no dog, compared to anything else, with the stamp of Microsoft near, or upon it....

Now..for my first G.A. twin, FS9.killer flight of the day.  Deadly smoooooth...and the farthest away from the airport called; O.O.M. 'KOOM' can be 10 hours away from my departure point, in the iFly 737...and I still would not 'get there'....lol  Have fun in your EVO2015/16 FS9 rebirth!

Mitch, you got it in one go. It is important to me that people donate an amount that they feel is good for them. Also I do not have the time to support EVO to a payware standard eg I have been buzzing away at the spring textures for over a year! So I feel this arrangement suits everyone. . Some guys donated just a small amount and then some more when they tested it because they liked it. Heck, one or two even gave a large amount to begin with and then some on top because they thought EVO deserved it!

 

So everyone should be happy and not worry about what they should donate too much!
