January 20, 201610 yr Hello, I did something foolish the other day, and purchased a Gsync Monitor. It's 2560x1440. Before this, I was running a 4K monitor (which I've got, but was going to sell). To be honest, I actually quite like 2560x1440. For P3D as well as my other games, the visuals aren't THAT much different, but the gain in overall performance in all of my PC games is quite noticeable. I've been following the discussions about maintaining 30Hz (which is why I decided to try the Gsync monitor). Personally, I don't really want to buy another TV. Sure, it would probably look good gaming, but they take up a ton of space. Plus, my wife would throw a fit LOL . I've been looking all over the place for a monitor around 28"-30" that can maintain 30Hz while still being playable, to no avail. All of them are TV's 40"+. So I got to thinking, what if I just swapped out the Gsync monitor for another GTX 980Ti SC that I can run in SLI with my current card. Would the performance be worth it? Or should I just wait for a monitor to come out that is what I'm looking for? Currently at the 2K resolution, I'm able to maintain fairly high performance, most of the time. But for the price of the monitor, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Still stuttering and the rest of it. Thanks for the help  Andrew F.P. January 20, 201610 yr Two things: 1. G-Sync can only show its strength at FPS above around 40. For 30FPS, Gsync is basically useless. Yes, it might appear more smooth, but as a matter of fact, having your P3D capped at 30FPS and using G-Sync results in a Monitor with 30Hz, which is certainly not very comfortable to look at. But I can be wrong... 2. To know if a second 980Ti would help you anything, you basically already gave the answer yourself. When you reduce the resolution and you gain more FPS, this means that your scenario is GPU limited and you would profit from an additional card (although most probably far from 100%). If you reduce the resolution and you do not see a remarkable increase in FPS, your scenario is CPU limited and another graphics card would not give you a single more FPS. Logic, no? This means: yes, for 4K a second 980Ti would help you. For 2K, it might not help you that much, this you would need to test by comparing 2K to FullHD regarding FPS. If you have again significantly more FPS in FullHD compared to 2K, also for 2K an additional 980Ti will help.
