I think the problem whith P3d is missing or wrong version of dll visual studio into win 10.(msvcr80.dll).

Happened across this topic as I was attempting to install my Coolsky DC-9 into P3D V3.4...

I did a 'manual' install from FSX into P3D. Simply copied the complete F1 DC-9 aircraft folder, DC-9 Sound folder, DC-9 Effects files (there were 4) and the Gauges (1 dll ) - this item I placed in the DC-9 aircraft panel folder since it's cleaner that way. System is Windows 7 Pro.

Seems to be working perfectly.

If you are seeing the following when starting up the CoolSky DC-9

- black screen

- freezing

- any other problem with the plane not showing

try these steps. They work for me in P3D v3.4

1. Start Prepar3d and load any other plane so you are sitting in the cockpit.

2. Click Alt-Enter to go into Window mode

3. On the menu option, choose Vehicles and load the DC-9

Whoila...the plane loads and is fully working (at least for me). You can then hit Alt-Enter and go back into Full Screen mode.

I have the DC-9 in P3D V3.4 running without any problem.

The most import point is to install the Simmconnect in the P3D folder redist "FSX-SP2-XPACK".  After installing the MSI file everything is fine. I use all Hotfixes and ALL is functional!

While I use a 3 screen setup the only thing I had to change are the windows entries in the panel.cfg to match the resolution on my setup.

System OS is WIN7 64bit.

Cheers,
Michael

This is good for anyone struggling with the Coolsky to know. I already had all the simconnect dll versions installed so never ran into any associated problems.

I can confirm they are not required.

okay; thanks a lot, i'll try tomorrow.

Tired of FSX...

And just one more question: what is meant by " install the Simmconnect in the P3D folder redist "FSX-SP2-XPACK"?

Does this means I can't proceed to a normal FSUIPC installation but i have to specify another folder?

No. It means locate the simconnect installer program (a .msi file) under the FSX-SP2-XPACK folder and run it. It will ensure you have the variants of simconnect dlls required for most aircraft, inc the dc9.

Roger, thanks a lot!

I'll try today to just move the DC-9 folders as you specified on to the P3D folder + put the simconnect program into that folder.

I'll do a feedback!

Hi again,

I've only found 3 effects files... engine_smoke, vc_light_red and vc_light_white... what is the 4th??

Thanks a lot for your help!

Ok so I've done a test right now, and it works... almost perfectly well!!!

No black screen etc. ! But one problem still seems to remain though

See by yourself:

However, this is just unbelievable... if i go to another airport by the world tab, the problem disappears completely!!!

Second very little problem: navsim function is out of service, and when loading the airplane, an error message pops up, telling that nav, waypoints and airport data couldn't be retrieved... anyway, VOR instrument is fully functional, so I don't care.

Hi Folks,

Yeah - I've politely tried to get Espen to revisit his aircraft in both P3D and Win10 on his forum - he seems completely uninterested - he doesn't even have Win10 loaded so he can't see any of the issues reported by users - himself... It's a shame - I've been a fan of the Coolsky products for many years - but now I'm doubly cursed - Win10 and P3D... Glad to see some of you meeting with more success than my attempts...

Regards,

Scott

The Navsim problem is probably due to navigaph data folder coolsky uses is not present in p3d. IIRC this will only impact flight/fuel planning functions in the configuration screens, not the aircraft itself. I'm not at my pc right now but if you poke around on the fsx install you should find a nav data folder (maybe under F1) and copy that to p3d to fix up that last bit.

Did you RUN the simconnect.msi ? (Your comment sounded like you copied the installer rather than run it.) That might fix the other issue... not sure though. (That seems like a graphics driver issue.) Good luck!
