RTWR Jetliner Team Practice 3 – Sunday 7 Feb, 1900 UTC

This practice session starts at Anchorage International and proceeds down the coast of Southeast Alaska before heading inland to British Columbia and finishes at Spokane Felts Field.  The legs are short (100nm) so that we can focus practice time on climb, descent, and landing phase of flight.  While it should be daylight when we start, Alaska is known for its bad weather so some approaches and landings may be challenging as terrain will be a factor at several airports.  While flying fast is good, completing the leg safely is as important.

All team members are encouraged to participate in this session. Any new race team members should make an effort to participate, as this session will provide an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow teammates and experience what the race is like. There will be experienced race members who can assist with any configuration changes required for the race, teamspeak, recommended race aircraft, and any other questions that you may have. The practice session will simulate the race environment including the following:

• Duenna validated legs with server tracking enabled

• Teamspeak communications

• Baton and Wingman with posts on the forum.

• Real time baton transfers and handoffs (if needed)

• On-line Multiplayer (DC’s FSHost)

The practice session will start at 19:00 UTC (2 PM EST) and will continue till 21:00 UTC or later if members want to continue beyond that time. Remember to change the event in your Duenna to "AVSIM RTWR Practice"

Here's a SkyVector map of the route for general WX & charts (US only) - Tip,, just left of the "X" (close) in the flight plan popup is a switch to toggle old style vs new style plan listing. Going to the old style will give one links to the airport charts.

For the Canadian airports charts can be had here.  Older, but still valid for those that do old style nav.

Ohh good find Roman, I know finding canadian charts online is hard as canadian charts are done by NavCanada a private organization in Canada and aren't released for free anywhere.

when i fly online in Canada I use my paper charts usually that I bought many years ago. :)

Charts?  That's just cheating...

I'm going to try to make this one to warm up.  Hope to see y'all soon!

How does this work, do we all fly the whole thing, or pick a leg?

Join us on Teamspeak.  You can volunteer for a particular leg as either baton pilot or wingman.  Other members will setup at the destination airport to pickup the baton and carry it on.
