GTN750 in B58

Ray Marshall did a mod with the 750 and 650 in it. Bert Pieke did a dual 650 mod. You could PM them asking for their mods. They post frequently in these forums.

I replaced the 2 GNS430 units with the GTN750

but there is a small gap in between and some millimeters missing:

Good job! The line you see with slight gap is where to two stock 430 boundaries are located. This is hard wired into the model by the developer and they are the only ones who can change it.

Cannot quite tell what it is you have mounted in the panel below the GTN750. Whatever it is is not in your [VCockpit] above.  Interested. Can you fill me in?  I always prefer to have a second radio unit in a panel for redundancy. I like your 750 installation but am wanting that second radio set in the panel.

Where did this gauge come from? Does it work well as a Nav 2 and link to VOR2?

Stefan, your post regarding the Carenado B58 Baron with the integrated GTN750 which you did is amazing.

I am considering purchasing the B58 Baron but because it does not come with an integration option for the GTN750 I have been thinking of going to the PA23 Aztec which has a GTN integration.

I would prefer the B58 - so my question is... Is this all I would have to do to the Panel.cfg file to make this work?

Also does it function correctly without any issues due to this change?

Appreciate hearing from you regarding this.

When I tried the GTN750 in the Baron, I really did not like the gap in the middle of the gauge.. and ended up with dual GTN 650s instead..

I tried this. I didn't mind the line. but some buttons didn't work on the 750. especially the popup button was ineffective. It looked great though.  I also tried Bert's double GTN650 setup but in my case not having the 650 I used two gtn750s with Bert's resizings. but I couldn't get that to work either. I'm back to the GTN750 stack and run it on a second monitor. Along with an occasional AVIDYNE I copied from the 441 Conquest.

That's too bad you are having this issue, not sure if I can help but let me know.

I tried the two 650's but I am not a fan of the 650, so with the help of others and perseverance I was able to get two 750's working perfectly normal - one imbedded and the other hidden but both pop up with my hotkey setting.

Like you I am OK with the horizontal line on the imbedded 750 #1 because when I pop it up there is no line.

Dane, Thanks for the reply. So as mentioned I now have the F1 GTN Complete which adds the 650 to my already existing 750..Heres the new problem. I can't get the two 650s to work independently  Using the Flt1 Config I've set up 650 unit to be unit 1 and 650 unit 2 to of course be unit 2. but they are either both as GPS or both as VLOC or 'NAV". I like to run GPS with my 750 (650) unit 1 and sometimes switch to NAV VOR1.. for grins.  BUT I want to have the second unit setup as NAV/VOR2.  But I haven't found a way to achieve this. Spent the last 2 days reconfiguring panels for my faves.. the Care-Baron 58 2 650's, Care-C340 2 650s, Care-V35b one 650 along with Nav VOR2 old school backup.. I'm gonna leave the Carebeo-310R alone as it works just fine with 1 750. After playing with it.. Im also not real keen on the 650 but it works well in the F33, V35..

So are you saying that you have gone back to the two 650's? Or are you pushing forward with the two 750's?

There is no reason why it should not work - maybe your panel.CFG has some errors in it.  Also not sure why certain buttons don't work as all mine work - again maybe the panel.CFG has errors - check your panel.CFG again if you want I can also send you the details of mine.

Do you use FSUIPC5?  I have my GTN 750's configured to a hotkey for the pop-ups.  You should't have to run them on a second monitor.

As far as the COM/NAV-1 on one GTN and COM/NAV-2 on the other, that's easy - see my link to a screenshot - the second button down from the top of the F1-GTN-Config is titled Radios - click on it and set it to the GTN you want. - https://photos.app.goo.gl/VVxiyCP5pLmknmcn6
