fmc not seeing new airport

hi all

          In FS9 I have amended my airac files to add a new Airport (OTHH.. which is not a stock airport) to replace OTBD.

When I try to setup a flight on the 747 FMC it will not recognise OTHH as a destination......it says "not in database"

Can anyone please advise what database file needs amending ?

In FS9/fmcwp folder the files that need altering are:

 

airports.dat

WPNavAID.txt

wpNavAPT.txt

 

and in FS9/PMDG/SIDSSTARS you will need to add a file for OTHH

 

The easiest way to do this is to buy an update from Navigraph.

What did you actually change when you say you amended your airac files.? What edits did you make to what file?

 

Did you upload a new Navigraph FMS update or something else?

I have amended the files that Peter suggested.

I recall doing a similar exercise with VTBS a year or three back and that worked OK

I cannot understand why this attempt has failed.

I do not want to use an updated Airac because the version I have ties up well with my FS9 scenery set.

If no other files than the ones Peter mentions need altering I will check for the "dyslexic digit" !
