Hi MIke

Thought you would like this

Just remember the criteria for part 1.

Once we have finished the last little bugs that we have noticed then the BETA will be released as per the Post on the P2A forum.

Hoping today is the last testing day.  Released for the week-end, but you know very well you never can tell

This is brilliant, and posts I'd rather read instead of subjective, personal preferences on the size of a "dreamliner" lol . Task for tonight. I'm in.

Mike, great but what are the routes you can fly for part one of this challenge?

This is one of the points about this challenge everyone flies the same route(s).  Apples with apples

Not their favorite route that they have flown a 100 times and knows that ATC will work.

Get my drift

So, as this flight does not meet the criteria of this challenge, then it will be deleted...sorry about that

Post it somewhere else if you want others to see it.

......and I did remind you before you went off and did your video. :fool:

look at the post above

Know what you mean, but this route gave me problems in both PATC and PF3, think I have sorted it but......It's a challenge..;-). Will fly your nominated routes as well.

Great stuff

Challenge part 2 gets harder not just for your ATC programs but also you as PIC.

stay tuned.

Yep, this is the whole objective of these challenges, didn't I say there is a part 2 and 3....well there is

This the main reasons we locked another thread, it turned into 'who's got the biggest .......'dreamliner'

This thread will stay within the criteria, otherwise the posts will get deleted.

Above all have fun and test your ATC program(s) but also in Part two you will be testing yourself as PIC

Part 3........Not sure if ANY of the current ATC programs will get through that, let's wait and see.

glad you are in

Also you can fly these VFR or IFR  or both if you want as long as you use an ATC program for the flight

Default ATC. (Not my ATC of choice but the only one I have right now. Would LOVE to give P2A v2 a try!)

EDDM > LOWI

IFR with the Lancair Legacy in P3D v3.1

Full ATC coverage: yes

Did it get me from A to B: no

Reason for the failure: I was ordered to fly to 12.000 feet. 10 nm out I was told to report the runway (visuals 8) in sight while I was still at 12.000 feet. 6.4 nm I was told to descent to 11.000 ft. 4.2 nm I finally had the runway in sight (not sooner because of clouds) and was told to descent to 3.900 ft and cleared to land. Obviously I had to declare a missed approach because I was way too high. I was told to turn left and continue descending to 3.900 . Unfortunately there were mountains at my left. At this moment I am presumed dead. Of course I could have prevented this all but I wanted to let ATC lead me ALL THE WAY for this test.

Apart from the failure this short flight made it very clear once more why I am interested in an ATC addon... I was vectored all over the bloody place.

Nice challenge btw.

Thanks Jeroen,

A good report.  Yep, there are reasons for these routes

It's good to fly routes that perhaps you never fly; I think we like to remain safe and fly what we know and sometimes make adjustment, lets say as we know what's coming.

So it's good to fly routes that you have never done before, that way it will limit the 'adjustments' you make, given a better reflection on not just the ATC but on you as a PIC and above all it's good fun.

Just completed EDDM-->LOWI

A/c Super VC10 full Pax load 22tonnes fuel Vat+5 136kts so meet the Map requirements at LOWI. good to go!

The METARS

EDDM 121420Z 09012KT CAVOK 05/M03 Q0998 NOSIG

LOWI 121420Z 14011G24KT 090V200 9999 FEW060 BKN300 07/M08 Q0997 NOSIG

Take-off was from RWY08R via the TULSI 1E Departure

Arriving at RTT via the TULSI 3A STAR at 9,500 QNH

the FPL MSW-->DM081-->DM082-->DM086-->MUN-->MANAL-->TULSI-->RTT-->LOWI

At RTT I had to enter the hold via a direct entry procedure for 7 minutes. So just one circuit!

The other STARs at RTT are at a much higher altitude e.g. FL120 so PF3 would have put me in the hold and descended me to 9,500 QNH whilst still in the holding pattern.

Cleared to leave the facility when starting the inbound leg (first pass, phew) Turned onto hdg 210 to intercept the localiser. Localiser was live so contacted the Tower who immediately asked me to reduce speed to 160kts . By this time the wind had changed so got clearance for rwy26. Flew the approach with gear down and flaps2 (this is the standard airline procedure for large a/c at LOWI, too many simmers fly this leg too fast). Landed on rwy26, told to exit left and contact ground. Ground cleared me to taxi to gate 2, My PO guided me to the gate. Parking brake on PF3 disconnected.

LFML to LEPA with ProATC X

Excellent flight, no problems or glitches, even had a change of runway at destination (Love it).

ProATC X Likes:- Great ATC background (when set correctly), clear and concise instructions from ATC which are also available on the Moving Map page (I have a terrible memory)

Great report, been there before by the sounds of it

Try one of the other routes

Great report Mike, not sure how you will cope with Challenge #3 when it comes around (hint moving map!)  :Tounge:

Just finished my second flight EDDM-LOWI Complete ATC service Yes,  Flight was uneventful. Took off from runway 8R using the OBAX3E departure climbed to my chosen cruise altitude of FL150 due to the short distance of flight, almost immediately at cruise was given my arrival clearance for the TULS3A RNVZ08 arrival. RNAV approach and landing was uneventful and ATC assigned Gate G2 for my parking space.

Thanks
