More news re.IVONA voices

Recommended Posts

After numerous attempts to reinstall ERIC and getting that "no internet" message I checked their website.
Completely  different IVONA now so I  sent a message to their "Cloud" support. Here is the reply:

Please be informed, that starting from 31st of December 2015 IVONA no longer provides support services for the following products:

• IVONA Voices
• IVONA 2 Voices
• IVONA Reader/IVONA MiniReader/IVONA Control Center
• Expressivo
• Accessibility package

Therefore there will be no updates and the potential bugs will not be fixed. It is still possible to use all purchased products, however IVONA Software does not guarantee they will work properly in the future (e.g. on Windows 10 systems)

We also encourage to check the offer from Harpo Software. They are an official reseller of IVONA voices and maker of professional text reader – Speech2Go (products are compliant with Windows 10)

More information can be found at http://harposoftware.com/

The GOOD news is that they verified my previous order (2012) and gave me a download link and new code.

CEPSTAL has very good voice sets. I use their David along with MSFT Anna. Note from my post that IVONA voices are still available from HARPO   http://harposoftware.com/

Check prices at the sites. Not all voices cost the same and there are some packages of several voices, usually a good deal

Probably, but still very expensive... You said you use David and Anna: so you use only two voices for all ATC...?

Mwah... not the best I've heard so far. But Cereproc voices are at least cheaper (around 32 euro). At the top of the Cereproc site you can enter text and choose a 'person' to say it: this way you can hear what a voice might sound like in the sim (just enter an official ATC line). Other 'voice' sites have that option too: it will give a better idea than the regular bla bla they let you hear.

These voices seem pretty good at around $30 , price is reasonable. Could always add another periodically.

I have recently purchased a voice from Cereproc 'Stuart' which works well with my setup (X-Plane, P2ATC v2 and Windows 7 home premium edition)

I have four of the AT&T voices, Mike, Crystal, Lauren and Charles be aware that these are very old voice sets and are nowhere near the quality of Cepstral, Ivona and Ceraproc

Ceraproc sound really good, probably the best of any I have tried.

There is a 30 days demo offer from Visionaid for a huge amount of voice sets from Ivona and Nuance which is worth getting to hear the quality.

Hi,

Is there any possibility to "downgrade" SAPI voices to transform them near to a radio quality?

Does SAPI output uses DirectShow layer?

Thanks
