Affinity Mask setting on 6700k 4 cores with HT?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. Im  trying to use the AM calculator to try to find the AM value for my cfg file in p3d v3.1. However, I dont understand how to use the calculator - specifically I dont understand the difference between the logical and thread labels in the calculator. When I try to set the cores as I THINK it's meant, I get unreasonably high numbers which I cant find in any other posts on the forums by googling.

Can someone help me out and give me the value I am supposed to put into the cfg file under affinity mask on a i7 6700k With hyperthreading on? (4 physical cores)

Hello Andreas.

I am also running the 6700k with HT on.

It depends on what you want...

I was running without AF at all and it worked good.

At the moment I run AF = 252 -> Core 0 + Logical Core 0 off

I set my addons like ASN and Aivlasoft EFB to Cores 0+1.

But to be honest it does not really make a difference at all.

Go here to do the calculations:

Some say HT off gives you better VAS usage. For me VAS off gave me problems with GSX stuttering and slow reloading of textures.

Best regards,

Stefan

Is affinity mask even needed in P3D? I'm running without it and I'm fine, lots of others said when I ask they don't use the tweak anymore...

Hello Andreas,

Why dont you use Process lasso? https://bitsum.com/processlasso/

You can set the AM on the fly and even set to always on a specific program

In my eyes it is not needed after testing with and without it.
