Max Sliders

Missing AI Aircraft

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this subject has been covered elsewhere, but I've not managed to find it if it has!  Frankly, I've been to hell and back with P3D plus add-ons since deciding to invest somewhat in a decent system (solely for the use of P3D) around 10 months ago.  I've had periods where I've managed to use the system quite well and really enjoyed going on that steep learning curve, ably assisted I might add by Avsim forums!  However, that's another story.  The thing is, I've managed quite simply to install and have up and running MT6 in P3D v3, but the pull on system resources seems to have dramatic effect.  I'm experiencing OOM's and even today, a blue screen.  This after turning down, turning down and more turning down of settings!  So I've given up the ghost on MT6 and uninstalled it, but now, I don't have ANY default AI aircraft anywhere, even with the sliders maxed.  I guess there's a .cfg entry somewhere preventing the default AI to show, but so far I can't see where.  Any ideas?

I think MT6 renames the ai traffic .bgl file. try looking in Lockheed Martin\p3d\scenery\world\scenery and see if trafficAircraft.bgl has been renamed. Also try UT2, better models and kinder on fps. Here's a glimpse of UT2 in P3D v3.1

Thanks Mike.  I'll have a look a little later (not in the right place right now) and report back.  The problem with UT2 (in my experience) is the appalling customer service from Flight1.com!

To be honest CS is not really needed, there is an enormous amount of help and info available on YT and Avsim etc, plus UT2 really is install and forget. You will need migration tool though.

Ok, Mike, thanks - I'll have another look at UT2 then.  To be honest, my point is if you sell something, then support it properly and fairly.  Don't just take the money and run, which sadly seems to be the case quite often in the flight sim world it seems!

That should run MT6 just fine unless you shove the AI sliders too high.

I keep mine around 15% and have no issues at all. I don't use it but there is a tool called Traffic Optimizer which should also help.

Hi Mike,  you were right!  It had indeed been renamed.  Changed it to .bgl and now the traffic is back.  The one place I hadn't looked.  Many thanks for your help!

My pleasure Sir, happy flying.

where did you find those ut2 2015 schedules?

People are converting handmade WOAI schedules for use in UT2. At some point, Flight1 might be wondering what has happened to their product?
