February 20, 201610 yr Not much of a difference so I use the lesser for obvious reasons  I always match Ansiotropic with MSAA in P3D menu - 4x and 4x which matches NI settings 4x SGSS and you should try that if you are not OK I will, how does 4XSGSS in Inspector work with your card in clouds? Im running the 980ti Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom

February 20, 201610 yr Commercial Member MFAA is a post process which may work well combined with DSR set to say 1.2x or 1.5x, and not use MSAA or MSAA+SGAA at all, or maybe at only 2x. 8x supersampling is heavy going on the GPU and is often a reason for poor frame rate. Always set MSAA and SGSSAA to the same multiple. Remember that even monitors of the same resolution can look different, so worth trying all things since what works for one may not be so good for another. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

Im running the 980ti Try this tweak works really well - still not happy with distant lights cutting off way to close to aircraft at elevation but helps - p3d lod is not the best http://www.avsim.com/topic/451337-interesting-find-autogen-treenight-lighting-view-distance-tweak/ MFAA is a post process which may work well combined with DSR set to say 1.2x or 1.5x, and not use MSAA or MSAA+SGAA at all, or maybe at only 2x. 8x supersampling is heavy going on the GPU and is often a reason for poor frame rate. February 22, 201610 yr Welcome you will like it Rich I just did a flight with 4XSGSS, I still get hammered in the clouds, its nowhere near as bad as with the 970 I had. Do you look your FPS? Lock Hi Ron I run unlimited always get 60fps + - 2 fps using 4SGSS not an issue on my system but I would like to get rid of it but not sure I can at least on my 32" benq - 4k will be a different story I would assume You have seen this bad boy right  http://www.avsim.com/topic/479006-why-i-havent-been-simming-latley/page-7 Rich Sennett

February 22, 201610 yr This is 1440p with 2x DSR and MFAA. 8x MSAA + 16x AF in-sim David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
February 22, 201610 yr Commercial Member My understanding was the MFAA took over for MSAA but used the MSAA setting... Yes, that's absolutely correct. In fact I was wanting to point out that FXAA+DSR was a good idea to try as an alternative to the MFAA/MSAA+SGSSAA set-up and typo'd in the MF by mistake. Sorry for the trouble caused - requoted. FXAA is a post process which may work well combined with DSR set to say 1.2x or 1.5x, and not use MSAA/MFAA or MSAA/MFAA+SGSSAA at all, or maybe at only 2x. 8x supersampling is heavy going on the GPU and is often a reason for poor frame rate. I mention post process which FXAA and DSR are similar in that respect, so can avoid in-image AA processing completely, which can work well. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
