February 22, 201610 yr 4x MFAA + 4x SGSS MFAA is either on or off. with MFAA on.. I would try 2xMSAA in p3d and 4xSGSS in NI (also try reducing 4xSGSS down to 2xSGSS if its to much on resources.) bob
February 22, 201610 yr Commercial Member So 4x MFAA ( MFAA NVI + 4x MSAA in P3D ) and 4x SGSS Yes, we set MFAA on in NI, although MFAA produces double MSAA, with 4x MSAA in P3D display settings, we still set 4x SGSS in NI (+SGSS only when we use those pixely planes). February 22, 201610 yr Hold on get screenshot for you - Rob and Steve are using these settings now also If you mean me, no I don't use SGSS AA and I don't use MFAA ... in "testing" mode right now ... I'll try MFAA later ... on a different base than you folks so it'll be hard to do apples to apples Cheers, Rob.
February 22, 201610 yr Commercial Member Hi Rob, I don't use SGSS as a rule, since with the B58 (and others like it) MSAA and MFAA work great. But with the A36 (and others like it) I can only AA that reasonably well with MSAA+SGSS as is also the case in FSX DX10 needs SGSS added. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

February 22, 201610 yr Gerard, switching on MFAA will enhance MSAA by 2x. thats if the game supports it and for Nvidia cards GTX900 + ref :- http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_7.html bob According to Nvidia, more than the 900 cards are supported: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/mfaa/supported-gpus Anyone try it with FSX yet? I did on my old GTX760 card but only via NI. The option was not available in NCP. In terms of performance, I saw a frame rate drop of roughly 3fps but that could be because AA was actually doubled. Not sure, my tests were not exhaustive - just that I am exhausted testing it. Test was pointless because my card was not supported anyway. Cheers
February 22, 201610 yr Commercial Member Holy man. There almost needs to be a 'AA for the rest us' course offered. Having never tried DSR before, I tried a few different options out last night. Questions abound... Which would result in a greater workload on a 980ti that normally runs a 1440p monitor? Which would be the lowest workload? Which would generally be accepted to look the nicest? 2x DSR + 8xMSAA (in sim) + MFAA (in NI) 2x DSR + FXAA (in sim) + no MSAA + No SGSS No DSR + 4xMSAA (in sim) + 4xSGSS (in NI) Jim Stewart Milviz Person.

February 23, 201610 yr Here's my settings. John, I use exactly the same settings in my sim. I have also tried MFAA on/off, but to be honest I do not see any noticable difference at those jaggy scenery / VC lines. Should AA not be improved?
